This may be a promotion that some people can't pass up......free internet without having to be a Silver or above Seven Seas Society Member.
According to Seatrade Insider, the promotions are valid on some new reservations made by March 31, 2013. The free internet is unlimited and is available for the entire cruise. They are offering this promotion on three Navigator cruises, six Mariner and five Voyager sailings. Think I'll keep track of them so we can avoid what will probably be very crowded ships. What will Regent think of next (maybe giving an opt-out option for excursions....... wishful thinking)?

ime free internet means slow internet. And is that really a reason to book a cruise?

Maybe people will cancel or be upset because of slow bandwidth....it is not good as it is when it is available to Silver and above

not impressed when one of my earned benefits is given out for free
I too, am not impressed with the "free" excursions and the ever rising prices

For the record, I am not impressed either. But, it could be a draw for first time Regent passengers who depend upon the internet to keep in touch with family/work. Am also not happy with increasing costs -- especially when the costs are for things we have no interest in (excursions, stupid Regent tote bags for "Concierge" level, espresso machines in the suite, etc.) "All-inclusive" does not necessarily have a standard definition but generally includes room/cabin, drinks (alcoholic and non) and tips. Everything else should have an opt-out option.
I do wonder when the prices will get so high that a high percentage of customers have to either cut back on cruises or go to another line. There are quite a few passengers who have already done this...... but, IMO, there is a limit..... just not sure what it is. |
