Car Rentals in Corfu and Rhodes

Does anyone have any recommendations for car rentals in Corfu and Rhodes? Are there firms at the pier? Do you need to reserve in advance? What do you recommend seeing?

On Corfu there are car rentals at the pier. We had no problem renting a car without a reservation.

If you need an automatic car (as I do), I recommend that you book your rental car in advance anywhere in Greece, because there simply are a lot less of them available.

Last month in Santorini, when we picked up our car at 10 AM, several cruise ship passengers were turned away because no automatics were available except by reservation.

We have rented a car with Corfu Sunrise. I have been given several recommendations that this a reliable company.

I forget the amount, but we had to rent the car for a full day, even though we aren't in port for the full day. We made the arrangements thru e-mail. They say someone will meet us outside the terminal, next to the taxi station.

I am booked with Economy Car Rentals ( www.economycarrentals.com ) They have a range of cars and an option for drop-off and pick-up at the pier. Have been easy to deal with thus far.

We also used Sunrise car rental in Corfu, they were waiting with the car at the pier. Very nice company. We had a blast, we would rent a car again. Insurance was included in the rental.

Thanks for the information. We tried Sunrise but they don't have any cars available. Any other recommendations? What do you recommend that we see on the island?
