Default RCCL Allure of the seas or Celebrity Sillhouette?

Hi everyone!

I need help!
We have hard time choosing which ship and which itinerary. After a long researching work we have two alternatives left. We are two best friends in our thirties from Nothern Europe and planning our two weeks long holiday in Florida including one week long Caribbean cruise in april 2014. My friend is a first timer and I have sailed once with Celebrity on the Mediterranean with my boyfriend. We enjoyed Celebrity a lot but this time it is girls cruise.

I am not sure if Celebrity will suit our needs. Will it be too "couplish" and slow on the Caribbean? We are not party animals but enjoy dancing (if it is modern pop music) and drinking cocktails maybe once or twice during our cruise. We like good food and people watching. I am normally more into port days than sea days but on Sillhouette is Labadee one of the ports and only beach. Thats why it seems like the ports are equally good both on Sillhouette and Allure of the Seas.

I asked a similar question on here, and one piece of advice I got was this, you can cruise on Silhouette ships anywhere, they do Med cruises etc as well as Caribbean, but you can only do the Allure in the Caribbean, also, I do think it would be more "fun" on Allure for younger people.

When we do florida we plan to do orlando for a week, theme parks, then a weeks cruise, and decided we would prefer a quieter ship, for a rest after the parks!

Good point! I have sailed with Equinox which is quite similar to Sillhouette... It is a tough choice...

I sailed on both of the ships last year and have extensive reviews with lots of photos on our website www.thepreismans.com. Celebrity is our favorite line; but for a Caribbean cruise, I would take the Allure. It is a unique experience and there is so much to see and do on the ship. Especially in your age group. And as others have said, you can sail on a S class anywhere; but the Oasis Class is only in the Caribbean. In my opinion, everyone should experience the Oasis Class at least once; and this is your chance. Go for the Allure!

We cruised back to back for 7 weeks of continuous sailing through the Caribbean starting in January:
Reflection for 7 days
Oasis for 7 days
Eclipse for 28 days and
Reflection for 7 days.

The food and service are a bit better on Celebrity but the choice of activities on Oasis/Allure are unparalleled. The specialty dining packages on Oasis were also a much better deal than the pricy offerings on Celebrity.

For the wow-factor alone I would suggest that the Allure is the better choice for an introduction to life at sea. Celebrity ships are beautiful but our RCI experience on Oasis was a refreshing change demanding a repeat.

I appreciate your comments!
We just got off Allure of the Seas last Sunday. As is Oasis of the Seas, Allure is a destination in itself. It is an incredible ship with way more to do than I care to participate in, but that is the beauty of cruising. You can do your own thing if you choose to and plug in when you want. For two single gals I think Allure would be fabulous. However for two older people I have decided I really do prefer a smaller ship with less people and a bit more laid back.
