What can I do from the pier (beach wise)?

I am trying to spend some quality beach time on the islands without spending $500 for 4 of us with a cruise sponsored excursion.

Any suggestions by short taxi or even half hour walk from pier??

Safari taxi to Brewers Bay for $16pp RT or $64 total, or Long Bay (West End) for $24pp RT or $96 total, both very nice beaches with food, drink & restrooms, Brewers also offers snorkeling but you will need your own gear.
