when to ask for cabin upgrade
Can I request a cabin-upgrade as I board my cruise ship? or is that too late.? I will pay for upgrade if necessary. thank you Marydallas

On nearly every cruise I've been on during the last few years, there has been a sign near the check-in area, and another near the guest services desk onboard, that state that the ship is full. The implicit message, don't bother asking about an upgrade now.
So if you want a different cabin than the one you have now, the time to act (and pay) is now.

Just remember, if you ask, you will pay the full cabin rate, usually. If the cruise line asks, you will get it for free (an upgrade) or for a usually reduced rate (an upsell).
