Default Car Hire From Fortlauderdale

Is there an easy way to hire a car when you arrive back into fortlauderdale. Sailing in April on the Oasis of the Seas, then trip down to the Keys. Thanks.

As you are in the UK, I assume you can do it as easily as if you were in the US, as we've booked an auto for in Europe from here. Check out the different car rental agencies on line for best rates and reserve. Depending on the agency, a car will either be waiting for you when you disembark or a shuttle will bring you to the facility where you can pick it up.

Thank you for your reply. I wondered if the car rentals had offices at the port?

If you're arriving in Fort Lauderdale by plane, you may wish to pick up your rental car from one of the many car rental companies at the airport. Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, and Thrifty all have counters to serve you in Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport (FLL). Expedia can also show you a map of the nearest car rental locations to your hotel and the rental cars they carry. (And keep in mind that off-airport car rentals are often cheaper than at the airport, even from the same car rental company.)

Click on the car rental agencies (in BLUE). This will take you to the websites. Good luck to you...

I think they are looking for info from the cruise port not the airport?

OP, I think if you call one of the car agencies mentioned they will be able to get you set up.

Oh...I think you are right. I know that some agencies will pick you up from the port though.

the port and airport are rather close together. Most of the car rental companies have locations close to or at the airport. some offer a shuttle from the port. For the rest it is a short taxi ride. international guests regularly rent cars. The op should be able to find details of rental requirements on the websites. also check the fees for extra drivers if more than one might take the wheel. I usually use a major US online travel agency website to check prices and availability...then you can go to individual websites for details if needed.

We had a Thrifty car rental and it's just outside the port entrance. Budget is also close by on 17th Street, as I think Avis is as well.

If you need a ride to the FLL airport from the cruiseport, a taxi is quickest and easiest.
