Anyone remember comedian Laughin' Larry?

British Comedian Laughin' Larry was a regular on Commadore Cruises in the 1990's. Because he was the first to laugh at his own jokes, he was really funny. He pushed his video and audio tapes after his performance. Does anyone have a video tape for sale or does anyone rember his last name. I haven't been able to find anything about him on the web.

Yes I remember him from Commodore Cruise Lines Enchanted Isle, but I have not heard or seen him since. He was very funny. If I remember right he called himself Laughin Larry Larkin.

Larrys back doing the odd cruise, he lives in Florida and can be seen doing shows in the Fort Lauderdale area. He's a good friend of mine and one of the funniest comics on the planet! He has just cruied on Raddison.

Thanks for the message. I am glad to see he is still doing standup, as he is a very funny guy. If you bump into him sometime, ask him if he still has any video tapes of his show for sale. I would love to have one, and have kicked myself in the butt several times for not buying a copy when he was pushing them on the Enchanted Isle.

I was on a Southeast Asia Song of Flower cruise with Larry Larkin in Nov. of 94. Very funny and a nice guy. I wish him well.

I sailed with Larry several times on Royal Olympia cruiseships, going all the way back to everybody's favorite.....Stella Solaris. Larry is one of the few comedians who is a joy to be around when he's off the stage as well as on. He was one of the friendliest entertainers I ever ran into. I also had heard that he settled in Florida and was still doing occasional Radisson cruises. Best wishes, Larry, from your old friends Diane and Gail.

Larry is from my home country and he became one of my greatest pals. I remember going to dinner with my Dad, stepmother and Larry (in Oswaldtwistle) - it was a blast! In true Larry style - a laugh a minute! :D My dad has NEVER forgotten that night!

Larry and I ate lunch at Houlihans in New Orleans every Saturday - we even had our photograph up behind the bar for some time - they'll never forget us either! Such fun to spend time with him.

I now live in Texas (since 1992) and have not heard from Larry in forever!!!! He

used to call me every New Years Eve and we'd catch up - the last time I heard from him he was about to fly home becuase his father had fallen ill - does anyone know what happedned to his Dad and how I can reach my pal? :confused:

Hi I'm Larry's brother Peter, I would just like to say how nice it is for you all to remember Larry. He is now living and Still working in Florida. So make sure you all Look out for the Zanny Man (who he still is )...

Hi i know larry there well as he his may cousin. sadly is dad died that year.

At the moment Larry is back in oswaldtwistle england visiting family.

Larry Larkin is an old friend of mine. We worked on two different cruise ships together, The Rhapsody, Paquet Cruiselines, and The Regent Sea, Regency Cruiselines. He is a wonderful person, and probably the funniest, goofiest person I have ever had the pleasure to meet. I am so happy to hear that he is still making people laugh. (Not that I doubted that for a minute!!!) My deepest sympathies to you and your family regarding your father's passing. Please tell Larry that Jacqui Marsh-Kraus says hello and to look me up sometime. He will find my information through google.

I was just reminiscing earlier this evening with my daughter and I told her about this comedian guy I dated for a while back in the late '70's and I wondered what happened to him, so I googled him and found this forum. Wow, living in Florida and still cruising. Good for him. I met him when he was a bingo caller in Southampton. He went off to do his national club gigs but he always popped in when he was down here and my mum would cook him a meal, the he'd be off again...:D The last I heard from him was I think 1982, but i often thought of him and wondered if he was still making people laugh.

If anyone sees him soon, tell him Jane from Southampton says Hi, and best wishes.

Thanks for the updates - I am sooooo very sorry to learn that Larry's dad has passed. It's been a while since I've been on here, but I hope people are still reading this.

What fun this site is. I joined the Regent Star in Nov 1987 as a DJ. It was my very first ship and Larry Larkin was one of the first people I met. I remember my first night on board, I operated the spotlight while Larry fiddled with a few knobs for sound and lights. I'm glad to hear that he is alive and well.

Lots of good memories are flooding back. Time to search for a few more fellow employees!

Hmm sounds to me like Larry is promoting himself here. All the posts from people who supposedly know him-all the posters have only a few posts to their name and they happened to go on cruise critic in this less used message board. I doubt it. Anyway Larry you sound like a funny guy I hope you continue to do well in the comedy business.

Sorry but that doesn't make sense. If he was promoting himself surely he'd use a better method than this. I got here from google. I don't even cruise, (but would love to one day). Maybe all the others did too, or have some other reason for coming here. He doesn't even have his own website. Try googling him and you hardly find anything. Just a bit from his agent and maybe a small announcement buried there somewhere.

I did email someone on here to ask about getting Larry's Video but it didn't come to anything and I still can't find it. So if anyone knows where I can get it, please email me....Jane.hodges2@virgin.net

Too late to edit my post but I also meant to say, all the people on here who know Larry well, his brother, cousin, good friends...surely someone has told him this thread is here. Maybe he doesn't have a computer, but...Larry, if you do get here, say Hi, and give your old friends some contact details....and get a bloomin computer...its 2008 for goodness sake....:D

Well I can understand you being skeptical although if you check out my link you will see that I actually do know Larry :) I stumbled ont his site when I was trying to find Larry - my other post is under DEBBIE IN TEXAS. I worked with Larry on a few ships:)

I have been a cruise critic member for several years, but rarely post.

My husband and I just returned from our 6th cruise and we were reminiscing about our first ever cruise back in ...1983? aboard the Rhapsody/Paquet cruiseline. We talked about our fond memories of the comedian Larry Larkin! When we got home today, I googled his name...and it brought me to this thread. I'm glad to hear he is doing well!!
