Clam Shell

How much is it to rent a blue Clam Shell on Grand Turk beach , where do you rent them from .

That's a great question I was thinking about renting one, but not sure if it might get too hot in the shell..

Anyone with some insight?

Last year when we were there they were $20. There is a spot just to the left of the pier where there is a bunch of them folded up - go there and the guy will set you up.

We chose not to spend as we found chairs in the shade so I can not answer how hot they are.

Rented one in May while we were on the Conquest. The shell will cover 2 loungers. It was around 82 degrees the day we were there and it did get very stuffy inside the shell.

I've looked at some pics of the beach area and it doesn't appear to have alot of shade, nor do I see any umbrella's. Anyone been there lately and know's if this is correct? We will be in port in December from 7 am until 2pm and would like to spend most of the day on the beach, but need some shade. My hubby burns fairly easily, and I'm not sure that a clamshell will provide enough shade.
