Muse Brochure

The glossy Muse brochure arrived today, however, still no Casino showing on the deck plans.

When on the Wind in Mar/Apr, I asked the casino manager about this. She said there would be one. Recently, I asked my travel agent to ask Silversea

this question. The response seemed to be yes/no/maybe, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Perhaps they will spin the wheel, and if it lands on red it's no casino and black it's a goer! :D

Does anyone else share the interest in being intrigued to know the thinking behind the choice of name with all of the different potential connotations? With all previous names, they were just neutral. But this one is worthy of ponderance, don't you think?

Any thoughts?

:)

Jeff, except Silver Wind, I always assumed that the Cloud, Whisper, Shadow and Spirit were named after vintage Rolls Royce models.:D

I wondered why Wind was the odd one out.

Not sure about Muse!

Don't know about the name but, as my husband pointed out, they are obviously pandering to the British high street catering favourites. There is an indian and chinese combined - 2 takeaways in one; a fish and presumably chip shop and a pizza hut. All we need is a kebab shop and we are sorted..

We were on the Spirit last month when some Silversea executives were on board for developing Muse marketing materials, videos, photos, etc. They also indicated that there will definitely be a casino on Muse, even though it is not reflected on the current published deck plans.

Rather begs the question, why publish the brochure now if there are still issues yet to be decided on.

To pump up interest, to get the cruise itineraries out there, to book cruises early. Silver Muse sets sail in just under a year!

Excuse, me if this has already been asked....and answered, but, if there's no main dining room, where do you go in the evening? Do you trawl around the alternative restaurants until you find a table available, or do you have to make reservations on a day to day basis ? Do you/are you able to do this before embarking?

Looking at the picture of the bed in the veranda stateroom, how do you think it can be made into twin beds? It would seem that the lights and electric plug sockets would be in the way if the bed was made into two beds. It looks so stylish it would be a shame if it is spoiled by making it into a twin.

The ship looks beautiful and we would love to try it next year.

This is one of the (many) things I do not like about the Muse. I asked this question to the Silversea headquarters people I met on the Spirit last month, and yes, all restaurants will require reservations to be made in advance.

When I protested that I do not want to decide where I'm going to eat and at what time before I even get on the ship, for every day of the cruise, I was told that a couple of the restaurants will have some seats set aside for walk-ins.

So much for hanging out at the bar and just going to eat at whatever time you are hungry and with whoever you may have met during the evening.

How disappointing :o Thank you for the information:)

Latest SS brochure states 'Open seating dining, dine when and with whomever you please in the restaurant our main dining venue,no assigned times no assigned tables.' Are SS HQ giving out different information to that printed in the latest brochure and for what purpose? The only restaurant we have had to make reservations for is L Champagne and we have always eaten when we wanted and with whom at whatever time we wished. This has been one of the real benefits of SS over some other luxury lines for us so hoping it hasn't disappeared for our upcoming cruise on the Wind.

The question was related to the Muse, as that has no main dining room. All the other Silver ships have a main dining room, where you can dine 'when and with whomever you please'

Because they need some preliminary information/drawings to start selling the cabins early!

According to the cruise director who gave a lecture aboard the Spirit just a week ago or so, there will be a casino.

I have no idea abut the reservations to dine. Since we prefer La Terrazza on the Spirit, I always make reservations as soon as one can do so by using the my silversea website. That way one is pretty much assured their choice unless of course the owner commandeers the ship for his own use.

Deck 5 has a large area midships, labeled Main Bar. But It's much too large to just be a bar - probably the Main Dining Room. And a big empty space on deck 4 aft - should be the galley serving the specialty dining rooms on deck 4 and the MDR on deck 5 (has to be close).

And what is the unmarked space portside forward of La Terrazza on deck 7? And a smaller space with tables directly across on the starboard side? And only 1 boutique (deck 8)? There are a lot of unmarked spaces near the aft elevators on decks 6 - 9. Deck plan definitely looks like a "work in progress". But given the maiden voyage is April of next year, and the ship is well under construction, you'd think they'd have the design figured out by now!

There is no 'main dining room' on the Muse, well not yet:confused: just several 'alternate' venues. Silversea may have to re-think that one.:)

IMO no MDR and reservations required is a deal breaker. We were ready to sign up for FLL/VPO until we heard this. We think requiring reservations is similar to fixed seating, not flexible.

Unless they make a mandatory no tipping for the MDs then this is going to be very interesting.

Look on the bright side; we felt the same and was told: the room service menu will now be able to select from three restaurants. So you can dine in your room on the Muse and don't stress... Wondering what they are going to do on that Captains welcome diners?

Also right now trying to figure out what special space is going to be on that pool deck, aft? Will have to wait till the floor plans are complete...

And who wants to spend the money to cruise on a luxury ship and eat dinner in your room for the duration?

I did! But only out of deference to my fellow travellers.:D

You will be able to get into any restaurant you want.

The Donuts ;) of the MD's will retain a waitlist of all applicants in their restaurant and give you a spiel that it is fully booked but he *might* be able to "fit you in" and as long as you bung him a few appropriately coloured notes you will have your table.

The perfectly acceptable "first come first reserved" approach that has been dropped in favour of a lengthyMD controlled Spainish practice of "waitlist" and " consider yourself lucky if I promote you to cofirmed" ;););) aspect of MD largesse should be regularised once and for all.

imho
