Hotels near Venice Airport?

Recommended Posts

On our return home from Venice we are booked for a flight on the 12th of Sept.

This has been done because Delta Sky-miles has no seats avaliable on the 11th.

We are on a waiting list for that flight. If we do not get it, we will fly out on the 12th.

We sailing on The Grand Princess.

If we stay the extra night I would like it to be near the airport.

Maybe someone else has a simular problem.

What is the best way to get to a hotel near the airport and which hotel?

The airport of Venice is very close to the city, only 15/20 minutes by land taxi from Piazzale Roma, so you can stay the extra night in Venice, close to Piazzale Roma.

Don't spend the extra night close to the airport, unless you have a flight very early in the morning.

Here is a site you can check for hotels near the airport. I don't think you will be impressed with the choices. I agree with the last poster if you can stay in Venice itself you will probably enjoy your last day more.

Flying with points I have a similar problem. The only flight out of Venice is leaving at 6:20 AM so we have to stay an extra day in Venice.

We are spending 3 nights pre-cruise at the Abbazia Hotel which is close to Piazzale Roma. For the the post-cruise night I also wanted to stay closer to the airport because since we must be at the airport for 5AM...

It took a while to find a hotel close to the airport, but I finally booked the Titian Inn, which is right close to the airport, and they have a shuttle to take you there. I did a booking request via their website at http://www.titianinn.com and within 12 hours, they replied with fares and availability and information on how to get there etc. So that's where we are booked. We will be returning on May 30th, so I'll let you know how it is.
