First time cruise to Bermuda, looking for suggested itinerary.

We’re going to be cruising to Bermuda for the first time this August on the Enchantment of the Seas. We will be arriving at King’s Wharf on a Sunday around 3 PM and leaving Tuesday at noon. Here are some details about us:

Any suggested itineraries and transportation tips from people who have been to Bermuda will be greatly appreciated.

You can do a lot of the things you like on foot with a good guide book. You will need trasnporation between places and the best way to get around is to get a 1,2,or 3 day pass that is good for unlimited rides on buses and ferries. A 2 day pass at $20 should be enough since you don't want to be too far from the ship on leaving day. Save the last day to take in the things at Dockyard.

Here's a printable map that can be enlarged to see the distances between the places you want to see.They also have the availabe at the Visitor's Centers but having one ahead of time can help in your planning.

As far as bicycles, I only have seen very few. The locals get quite impatient with the low cc of the scooters and will literaly breath down your neck, then fly out around you. Don't know what they would do coming across a bicycle. If you want to do some biking, you can do it on the rail trails out of harms way There's a thread asking about renting scooter that you might want to look for and read. A number of local do not recommend renting them.....one a Dr. who has seen the aftermath in the ER.

As far as not spending too much time on the beaches, may I suggest going to Warwick Long Bay and follow the trails to see some of the uncrowded secluded ones and make you way to Horsehoe Bay. Beautiful views along the way

Yes you can also rent bicycles and there are Bicycle clubs on the Island, so we Islanders are use to seeing bicycles on the road. I always say get on a scooter they give you a lesson on it...and if you feel comfortable then give it a go... But if your not comfortable from the start then I wouldnt. But remember Bermuda drives on the opposite side as The Usa and Canada.

There are many places that you can go and there is a complete rail trail around the island.

Good idea. The Public Transportation is wonderful on Bermuda. Great place to talk with the locals. They love to tell you about their island. Remember to say "Good Morning/ Good Afternoon/ Good Evening" to the driver. It is the Bermuda way!!!!
