(((PLEASE do not get onto me about this and if you do not vape please do not tell me how bad it is to sneak and do it. I understand but dont care. Most who vape will get it. AND PLEASE DO NOT i repeat DO NOT tell us to go to where smoking is allowed because we do not like the smell of cigarette smoke. )))

My wife and I have vaped on a cruise that didn't allow smoking before. We were very discreet and very polite about it. We did not have a problem on Carnival Paradise in the hallways or in the bars at all. We never vape at dinner or in eating areas and in public areas we take small draws not to fill the place with vape. Will we be gotten onto or get into trouble if we are discreet in bars and such for vaping? We are going to be on Divina in October. We use the small cylinder vapes (vape pens) that doesn't fill a room with fog just a 2 second puff of vape that dissipates.

I think it's Vapers. You're asking if you can get away with sneaking a toke in a non smoking area, I hope no one responds. Just as you don't like cigarette smoke I don't like vape fumes. There are plenty of places you can get your fix, follow the ship's regulations.

Vape fume are scentless and dissipate in 2 seconds so i would rather hear from someone who can read the disclaimer and knows what they are talking about please. Instead of correcting my grammar correct your facts. I wrote the disclaimer because of all the snarky people on here as of late who feel they have to chime in when they are not wanted with useless dribble yet it still happened. NOT SURPRISED.

Thank you

I would be very surprised if you got away with it in bars, to be honest. The entire interior of the ship is smoke free, yes even casino, except for one designated enclosed lounge.

I would think the exterior promenades of deck 7 wouldn't be much of an issue, and they are a great way to get from one end of ship to another (interior passage way really gets traffic jammed, just head outside) nor the rear staircases and landings (exterior corners of ship from deck 7 to 15). Part of the adult only pool area it is allowed.

I'm not suggesting you try it, but if you do there's a better than average chance you may be asked to stop since your usage may be pretty conspicuous.

If you think this forum is snarky you should visit the NCL forum. I think I know what scents/fumes bother me so can speak to that correctly, I don't need your facts for that. My analogy stands. As to your disclaimer, you might as well ask where are good hunting grounds for pedophiles (pedophiles only answer please). Yeah, I know that's unfair but you get the point.

Without getting into the vaping controversy, your question is illogical.

You are asking where you can do something (that isn't allowed) on a public forum. Even if you receive an answer, that place is no longer a secret and anyone whom you do not want to answer the thread will know where to alert MSC staff.

again vapes are scentless so NO IT DOESN'T BOTHER YOU because you cannot smell it and are you really comparing me to a pedophile because I enjoy vaping? it is trolls like you that i felt i had to put a disclaimer up in the first place.

no that was NOT my question and i looked at the vaping policy for divina guess what? THERE ISN'T ONE.so the same with carnival just as long as your discreet and don't bother people with it i guess i researched and answered my own question. so thank you again for being so helpful to think i am a pedophile and also to say i was asking where to go to break rules. SO HELPFUL cruise critic trolls so helpful.

AFAIK, MSC treats electronic cigarettes the same as cigarettes. So my interpretation is that if smoking is allowed there, you can vape (not familiar with the terms). If smoking is not allowed there, you cannot vape.

This is what I read...

Because of the specific and proven risk of fire, smoking (including electronic cigarettes) is not permitted at any time in staterooms or on stateroom balconies. If evidence of smoking is found, a special cleaning fee of 70 euro will be charged to the Guest’s account.

Which (to me) says that since you cannot use an e-cig in the privacy of your own stateroom (where it disturbes no one), you cannot use one in a public area where smoking is not allowed.

It seems to me that you are asking either...

A) Where is vaping allowed where smoking is NOT allowed? (The "...we do not like the smell of.." in your first post)

Or

B) Where can I vape and get away with it even if it isn't allowed? (The "...understand but don't care..." part about sneaking to do it in your first post)

The wording of the first post makes it seem like you are asking if it will be a problem if you are discreet. My answer is that if it is allowed, you don't need to be discreet. If it isn't allowed, being discreet makes no difference.

That is not true. It depends on what is put into vapor.

No body compared you to a pedophile.

It pretty simple, if you don't want criticism don't post it on here. Not judging you or what you do, just the facts.

I assume that since e cigs are only mentioned in cabins and not mentioned that they must be used in smoking areas that this is not the case. i dont like drinking i think since drinks are served in bars they need to stay there. NO that is stupid and so is all this bashing me for wanting to use my dag gum vape. sheeesh people

all i wanted to know is if other people who vape have been gotten onto even if being respectful and discreet hence why i said vapers only but in true cruise critic fashion i get people who dont vape telling me crap that is not helpful and plain name calling and yes he did pretty much compare me to a pedophile, saying i need professional help after i am the one getting scolded like a child and etc etc etc just because i wanted to hear some experiences from people who vape. it is like if you wrote a post about the gelato and i said gelato is awful and people who eat it are idiots. how is that helpful? You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. This board is hehre to explore all things cruising not to attack people that do something you do not approve of. I am done with this

I'm sorry we can't give you the answer you want to hear. Your disclaimer do not change the rules, I'm afraid.

Stick to the areas where smoking is allowed and nobody will bother you.

Happy cruising!

If you are within the ship's rules, there is no problem. If you are outside of the ship's rules (even if nobody complains) there is a chance that the crew could (rightfully) call you on it. Even if nobody with Carnival said or did anything, that doesn't guarantee that your next cruise on the same ship will be trouble free.

Being polite or discreet doesn't mean that a passenger won't complain. Even if 99.99% of the passengers have no problem with it and the crew ignores it, there could still be a problem.

My advice is to find an area where smoking is allowed that is unpopular. Few to no smokers won't be a problem for you and you won't be a problem for anyone else.

Imma respoinding just because you told me not to respond because I don't Vape. Also I like to write the word "Vape."

I Vape therefore I'm edgy. I ride a Harley therefore I'm a tough guy. Same circus different monkeys.

IF you are respectful, you will respect the fact that some people don't want to be exposed to you vaping. If you feel the need to vape and don't want to be exposed of tobacco smoke, find a place at the outdoor smoking area where noone is smoking tobacco. Problem solved.

That's how you solve this in a respectful way. If you just are trying to find a way to vape where ever you want, fine do that. But then don't try to claim that you are respectful, because it's not.

Don’t be so sure. A*small studyby Wolfgang Schober of the Bavarian Health and Food Safety Authority and colleagues published in the*International Journal of Hygiene and Environmental Health*in December found that vaping worsened indoor air quality, specifically by increasing the concentration of nicotine, particulate matter, PAHs and aluminum — compounds that have been linked to*lung and cardiovascular diseaseandcanceramong other health effects.

Bars and restaurants, no. We did see a few people vaping in bars on Divina and we did see some of them asked to stop. Admittedly a couple were not discreet and using the large chambers which emitt massive clouds of vapour. Outside on the deck didn't seem to be a problem.

In the cabin, as there is no smell or most importantly any fire risk how would anyone know?

I've been a vaper for years, from the time you could only get the false ciggie things. I don't vape in any public area's that it's not allowed in. I do vape in my stateroom, as you've said there is no lingering pollutant or lasting odour in vaping, but I don't cloud chase, and I stealth vape on the balcony (if you don't know what it is look it up). If I'm in a smoking area I'll blow a cloud or two as it's allowed. Please don't screw up vaping for the rest of us it's hard enough to get peeps to understand the difference between smoking and vaping as it is.
