Frosty's Chill Imagination review (lots of pictures.)

Whelp just got back and settled enough to begin my review on the Carnival Imagination 10/22-25.

Before I get into details would like to give initial impression and overview. I loved this ship. The only other cruise ship I've been on was the RCL majesty of the sea but, from the moment I step aboard this ship had the majesty beat.

I mean as soon as you step thru the gangway you are greeted with a great view of the atrium and you just know you are in for a great cruise.

I will clog up this post with a ton of pics soooo...If you want to look at a SUPER ton of pics the complete album is here:

http://s858.photobucket.com/albums/ab147/carolyncrm/Carnival%20cruise/?start=520

Note this is the last page of the album but the beginning of the vacation (old reverse order action.)

Back to review we set out to Miami on Thursday so as not to be too pressed for boarding (and to check out Miami's sites and sounds. We stayed at the downtown courtyard Marriott again and had a great room. Rate was $139 if we had taken the cruise package the rate would've been $179. Now get this the $179 includes transportation to port but if you go to the hotel desk and ask about transport to the port its $5 for each person, let the buyer beware.

With the $40 I saved we headed to my favorite nicarauguan steak house Los Ranchos in bayside market place. Once again I experience the delight that is the churasco with chimichuri. YUM and these pics do not do it justice. Was a lil worried at first cause they brought out the steak on a plate by itself?!? So Im like going into a full rage inside (WHERE THE FRIGGIN BEANS AND RICE?!?) THankfully I didn't say that out loud and they came with a PLATTER of beans and rice and proceeded to pile on till I said when...I still have yet to say when ;-)

Thanks to our upgrade to a suite we didn't have to wait in line and went straight to VIP. Nice lounge area they have for you to check in and get your S&S cards. Still it seems that the line was moving very quickly.

After finding our room and enjoying its delights had to go to the muster drill. I really like the way they do the muster drill compared to RCL majesty. On the majesty everybody went to there zone on deck 7 and stood in line. Here we went to our zones but they were in the bar area's with seats.

And now I must share with you all my greatest triump and failure of the cruise.

As we headed in the auditorium they were asking for volunteers for a men vs womens game. Figuring I'm smarter than the average bear I walk up to join my fellow testosterone driven brethen. When we arrive on stage they give us cards with a letter on them: S, P, O, T. The 4 guys get these letters the 4 gals get the same (I got P.)

SO just to set the game they give us a trial wort 'SPOT' and tell us to spell it out. I take the #2 'spot' next to 'S'. Seems simple enough but the girls have somehow failed to spell out spot and seems on there way to spelling 'L.O.S.E.'

Our next word was 'TOPS' Game is on and crackin now. Next word 'POTS' Yall see where this is going and so far we have won both of the challenges. Than we are thrown a curve...Spell opts. Once again I take the 2 spot behind O and we win. YEAH MEN! Than the host (a guy and girl) say to make this a little more challenging the next word wins regardless of previous score...Spell 'DOTS'?!?

The girls are looking at each other like 'wha' I order the O next to me followed by the T and S and turn my p 180 degress to make a d. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! We won In your face girly girl girl's. But that was only the 1st contest. The next contest we were given a spoon and a golf ball and told to walk not run around the auditorium with golfball in spoon in one hand our our other hand behind our head.

So we line up (Im 2nd) and off we go Into straight up hillarity. I love women...I love the way the women we competed against were dressed...I love women in high heels and short skirts trying to race around an auditorium carying a spoon and golf ball in one hand, the other hand behind their head and another hand trying to pull down the skirt. Oh and the high heels didn't even come into play. I swear some girls can play basketball in them and still get a triple double on ya.

We won this for one reason and one reason only...no girl kept there off hand behind there head so that kinda evened things up and as we came around with the last pair they where damn near neck and neck. As they made the turn to come down the ailse the girl was actually ahead of the guy...Until the golf ball fell off the spoon. This ball hit the ground like one of my tee shots hitting the cart path.

The ball bounced away from her and darn near to the other side of the room. Someone ran the ball back to her but it was too late. So we escape that contest by the skin of our manly teeth.

And now the final contest.

So we are lined up, again me in my 2 position. The host brings out 2 hula hoops. 1st one to drop hula hoop loses. We all look at each other crestfallen. So 1st dude and dudette go up against each other...Its actually close but she wins out. This was the girl with the highest of heels so we were kinda hoping she would go longer. Next me...the host ask would I like a practice go and I take it and fail. Now its live showtime.

We begin and it turns out I truly suck...but so does my opponate. She doesn't hula as long as me they ask the audience and they say its a tie for us to go again. GREAT I get to make a fool out of myself twice. We go again and my hula is the last to fall. Now understand this...Its not so much that I was able to hula just that I am a fat lard arse and it was just harder for the hula hoop to clear my belly and fall.

SO therefore WE the manly men won the battle of the sexes.

One of my fellow contestants his wife won the trivia contest later on.

Picture696.jpg

Picture694.jpg

Now you may be wondering 'frosty you said it was your greatest failure how is that?' I'll tell you how that is...All the time I was on stage and going thru the contestest I had the camera in my dang-gon pocket...Forgot to give it to my wife.

We had nothing to really do in Nassau no tour or excursions, so we just chilled and explored the ship. Overall I liked the service on the ship. There were some knick knack type of things that when they occured I though hmm but now I cant even recall them. We had anytime dining and that was no problem. Our dining time got progressively later. 1st night we went down at 6:30, 2nd night 7 and 3rd night 7:30. Each night it took a max of 3 minutes for us to be seated and we were seasted in the same spot.

With that said here are our wonderings around the ship.

Now for my second greatest accomplishment on this trip. We took a taxi back to port and saw some of the sights of the city. We also stopped off at a liquor store and got some beer and hennesey pure white.

I know your thinking shame you cant bring that aboard the ship with you and I was thinking the same thing...But alas:

Picture904.jpg

How you ask HOW WAS I ABLE TO get the henny back to my room? well as we were coming back aboard I had the beer in a paper bag and the henny was in its own bag in the bag with the beer.

As we came thru the check-point I put the bags on the scanner. They told me I would have to check-it and pointed to a girl in the corner. I headed over and sat down the bag...removed the bag with the henny and said I have to check this. She wrote down my room number took the bag with beer and I grabbed the bag with henny...advantage FROSTY!

So now back in our room with a lil sumthing extra there is only one thing left to do...laugh at the poor souls who have to wait in this line. When we came back there was like 3 people ahead of us, we beat the crowd.

Now its time for dinner and as it turns out this night was my birthday! All day long I had a hankering for steak, so I figured I would get the flank steak that they feature for every meal...except they had PRIME RIB on the menu!

I had the prime rib,my wife had the glazed hen, which she didn't like and got grilled chicken instead (which became her main meal for the rest of the cruise.)

We went to the main dinning room for breakfast the 3rd day. Looking back I wished I had just went to the lido again and brought it back to the room. I had never eaten breakfast in the Main dinning room and wanted to try it out, now I know.

This was the sea day so we just lazed about the ship.
