Hello there...........been working on recording web sites of Princess Patters that have been posted for the Princess ships and cruises..........this is a "work in progress".......and posted here for your review!

Do CC members think this is worth the effort for the good of the cruising crowd? If not, I'll just keep it to myself as a fun project:D

That seems like a lot of work that would be outdated every six months with repositionings, refurbishings and Capt., C.D., Maitre 'd, Head Chef/menu/time changes, tours offered, etc. Too many things can change in the course of a year and you will have to keep updateing constantly. If you are looking for a constant project to do, I think you may have found it.;)

A yeoman effort on your part. But I agree that the only purpose it serves is as a historical reference. Many of these are for ship/itinerary combinations that will not be repeated in the near or even distant future: Crown no longer sails the Caribbean Sea; Royal and Regal will not be returning to the Med; Golden moving to Asia next spring; Emerald to Houston this winter. Plus some of these predate the new constantly-in-flux minimalist entertainment schedules. But the minutiae geek in me still appreciates the effort

As someone who has gone through the trouble to scan each page of the Patters for a 14-day cruise twice and then posted them in my review here, and have been thanked by many people for doing so...I can understand the desire to have this info at hand. Of course, as others have said, ships move around and entertainers also do so. I've seen posts asking for Patters for a specific ship and itinerary, when that specific ship hasn't done that specific itinerary before, but usually others will post that.

Looking at past Patters does give a good idea of the variety of activities on board the ships.

I think it is a good idea if you are willing to put in the effort.

Even "outdated" Patters are useful to those wanting to know what might be expected on a certain itinerary even if it is on a different ship.

Say thanks for the recent reviews...........and I agree with your assessments......things can change so often and ships moved around constantly to different locations, any information provided in the Patters is short-lived.

I do appreciate the comments and we'll see how long I try to keep track of the Patters........won't post then everytime a find a new one.......but will if someone is looking for a specific ship's Patter;)

Once a ship is re-positioned and starts a brand new itinerary, will probably not list the old Patters that don't pertain to the new area any more.

Thank you denmarks......"This is from my website.

Golden Princess - Hawaii - Dec 7, 2011

http://dmmarks.com/PrincessPatter.html"........will add to the listing:).....at least until the Golden is re-positioned to Asia next spring like "fishywood" mentioned above.....didn't know that!.......guess I need to look at the Cruise Atlas closer to see where ships will be in the future.

Thanks all!........and will still be looking for more Patters in the meantime;)

Thank you so much for this - I find it a tremendous resource!

Even though I know the Patters posted are not going to be exactly as my upcoming cruise it's nice as a newcomer to Princess to have a good, accurate overview of what to expect.

And I ask that you keep the off-season ports as well. Example: you have Coral Panama Canal listed even though Coral is in Alaska now. But Pan Can Patters are the ones I'm interested in.

Again many thanks for providing this invaluable service!

This is going to take a lot of work. I Do know that old Patters can be useful. Plus many times more than Patters have been scanned. In the case of the link to what I posted there is much more including information on the kids program and junior chef at sea. These are useful for more than just the ship and area we cruised.

I did notice there have an increase in visitors to the thread for what I posted...keep visiting and enjoy it all.

As someone who scans and posts the Patters when I return from a cruise, I think it's a good idea to have a go to place where someone looking for a particular Patter can check. Even keeping an archive of older Patters can be useful. Good job.

I'll be on Princess for the first time next February, on the Grand from LA to Hawaii. Of course a lot will be out of date but for me this is a gold mine. So thank you very much!

I think what you are doing is fantastic. As long as you are good with seeking out the changes that might be made I say keep them coming.:):):)

I think it would be great if someone would take on a similar project with dining room menus.

Thanks so much!! For several minutes I just browsed through the patters of an itinerary we will be on and forgot all of life's problems and just concentrated on the fun we will have. It's like a detailed travel brochure. I think Princess should put an example of their Patter in their brochure to show people the kinds of activities they offer. So many people have said to me that they don't want to cruise because they think they'll get bored.

Thanks all!........and will still be looking for more Patters in the meantime;)

I've been scanning my old Patters for the past 25 cruises or so & while it's occasionally fun to refer back to see something the usefulness of them is somewhat questionable. Finding a free web site to host all them at a high quality (pdf) is hard to fine so I scan them for my own reference at around 5 to 7 Megs each & store them on a DVD with all my photo's. I also scan them a lower quality of around 2 to 3 megs each Patter & post them online for viewing under different logon names. This is the least acceptable size for viewing & still be able to read them.

If you're still interested in maintaining a collection I'll compose a list & post it.

MichelleinOC....That would also be quite a project and as with the Patters the menus would be changing often with cruises and destinations.....probably harder to find than Patters:(.......thanx for the comment and will try to keep the sites current.

pppatpc2.......Glad there was a Princess Patter that was helpful for you prior to your next cruise........it's nice to be able to plan some ahead of time to make your cruise that much more enjoyable....at least I do:D

Your idea ia a good one for Princess to provide a "sample" of their Princess Patter for the various cruise itineraries but that's expecting quite a bit with all the different cruise options out there.......never know........thanx

Lovetocruiseprincess.........That's a big job scanning all those Princess Patters thru the years.....and as you mention, they're enjoyable to look back on for your pleasure but how much are the older Patters pertinent as information for future cruisers?........as several CC member reviewers have commented, only the most recent Princess Patters are informative as the itineraries change by season and location, as well as, re-position of ships completly changing any usefull information in an older Patter.

What I'm seeing as I have started this......the most recent Patter available for each Princess ship in it's most recent location is the most useful for future cruisers.....and then any other similar Patters available that are probably not more than 1-2 years old......and again, any re-positioning of a ship kinda tosses out any older Patters......ie., Sapphire Princess in Alaska in 2013 and now 2014 in Asia for a few years.

I would say, if you have completed some recent cruises and the Princess Patters are not more than 2 years old, then try to post those or their website location and I'll be sure to add to the list I'm working on:D

Thanks for your comments and any additional Princess Patters we can add to the list!

OK. I'll check the ones for the 2013/2014 season so far & let you know where their posted. It's only 6 in total and they were B2B for the most part so they're practically duplicates.

It's not to bad scanning them as soon as you get back from the trip but if you wait till you have a pile of them it can take forever. I wish I had all the Patters from years ago before they changed the format.

I've just completed reorganizing all my old patter collection (26) & now have them in one location BUT I'm puzzled how to post a link for each cruise so they can be viewed individually without having to look at the list in total.

I think I have an idea of how to provide links to them but that's enough for today.

More to follow. ;)

Just depends where you have your Princess Patters located........if at a different site like Flickr or Facebook, etc., just need to "copy" the URL at the top of the page and "paste" into your new post on this thread. I have seen some pdf files attached to a posting and I have just copied that thread from CC.

Thanks for your efforts at this.....I know how time consuming it can be:(

Right, but I wanted to have the appearance look a little more neat so it's easier to look for a particular group of Patters such as;

Caribbean Princess – March 2014 – 7-day Western Caribbean Cruise

Caribbean Princess – Jan. 2014 – 7-day Western Caribbean Cruise

Caribbean Princess – May/June 2012 – 12-day British Isles/W. Europe Cruise (Southampton - RT)

Not that there's anything wrong with the original posting.

I'm still having a problem with sharing my Patters with anyone else. At this time it's only allowing me to look at my own files. It's only a setting within their program. I'll find it sooner or later.
