Just off Jewel, some highlights
Used 717 parking - great delivering me to the cruise ship - couldn't reach anyone to pick me up (no one answered phone at 7:45 - 8 am. (we got off ship early to get going). Although they advertise in every document they send they answer 7-3 and then provide an emergency and after hours number (no one answered either and I even left a call back - never happened). Ended up taking a taxi to the lot.
Loved the comedian Andy first and late night. Hated David and his puppet chuckey which was really awful (lots of folks walked out). West end to Broadway was so good I couldn't believe I was on the Jewel and not the Oasis or Allure. The singer and Dancers and costumes were really really good.
Folks were pretty polite, but the elevators were very crowded all of the time. My stateroom attendant Dalton was awesome, while Emily never even saw hers.
The Diamond event and the (I'm assuming - it was the D+/Pinnacle group) that has a lounge next door, were sharing waiters, so our service was hit or miss. Can anyone say why when there is a conceirge lounge on the Jewel, they used a different room on Deck 13? Someone said b/c the Conceirge has no windows; but I've only experienced that on the freedom the D+ would use the D lounge b/c of that, not that they open another room for them. Or was that an overflow? I don't know, but wish they didn't have to share wait staff. We often waited a long, long time to see a waiter come back.
Suave is on this ship (last year we saw her on the Liberty). She's a very good singer.
There were definetly some characters on this sailing.

Concierge Lounge
On the Jewel, the concierge lounge has windows, but RC has an overflow lounge for D+ and pinnacle. There are some people that prefer to go to the overflow lounge.
When we were on Brilliance, we were in a suite and had the option of going to the concierge lounge or either of the diamond or diamond plus lounges. (We are diamond plus).
I know what you mean about the D lounge.

They are terrific! We had a great time dancing to them on Liberty, so hope they're onboard until January.

I'm just off Jewel, we had a great time. Thought the Dead End of Broadway, I mean.. "West End to Broadway" show was pretty terrible though. My husband and I kept looking at each other like "What kind of acid fell into the director's drink with this staging and costumes?" LOL. I did like the Chess duets though.
All in all, she's in great shape. We were boarded very quickly, had our bags in record time, about 1:30 and we didn't board until 12:30. No issues at all taking on 2 bottles of wine and 2 six packs of Perrier. We did MTD, no issues. And for the very first time ever used the Windjammer on formal night. It was nice, very very quiet. Samy was a great cabin steward!
One disappointment was that there were 6 treadmills out of operation so a little wait for one on one of the sea days. We love the Radiance class, will stick with that class for a while.

The CL on Jewel is on Deck 10 outside with great views. Hollywood Odyssey in the Viking Crown (Late night Cigar Bar) is used for the CL overflow and the bartender there usually handles the entire room. At least it was that way when Mariya was tending bar. The Diamond Event in the rest of the Viking Crown had its own waiters every time we have been on before. Maybe they were short handed . We preferred the Hollywood Odyssey when the CL was overflowing into the area outside overlooking the Centrum. This can vary from cruise to cruise based on numbers of Diamond, Diamond Plus, Pinnacle members and Suite Guests.

That is a drag. I counted - there are 16 treadmills in total. When we were on just a few weeks earlier, there were 3 out of order, I think. Sounds like, sadly, they don't repair them or tend to them on turnaround day. They certainly should and could, as the gym is closed until later in the first day.

I have to completely disagree with the broadway review. We have been involved in community theatre for years and know what it takes backstage and onstage to put on a good show. The show was nonstop for one hour with major costume and set changes and it all went without a hitch the night we saw it. The energy of the performers was amazing.

This is great to hear, I wonder if it is a trend that bags are getting delivered faster. We got all our bags on the Allure just after they opened up access to the rooms.
I would love to see some compasses from one of the previous 4 day Jewel sailings if anyone has them.
