May weather ex:Southampton

Am considering a mid May RCL cruise out of Southampton to the Med. First 2 days are on the water which helps with the jet lag. Is it warm enough to sit out on the deck on the way to Gibraltar that time of year? Is it generally sunny or rainy on that stretch?

British weather is so unpredictable. Used to be able to rely on May as being the start of our summer weather but not these days.

Once you get close or into the Med you will normally be fine.

That ride down and back from the Med can be unpredictable sea weather wise. Can be quite choppy.
