If you are fortunate, you will get a "cruise consultant" who is both well-informed and willing to take time and make the effort to be helpful. That can make the process a bit better to book by phone. Certainly when it comes to air booking, you want to do it on line to saved the penalty fee most airlines charge for telephone booking.

I do a combination of both..research online..and put a 24 hour hold on some cruises or phone directly to RCI with their website in front of me..Either way it's very easy to do. You can then keep the booking yourself (as I do) or as some prefer to then transfer it to a TA.
