Hello all. We are a couple who just booked on the Eclipse leaving Southampton on August 21st. We are wondering if other gay people are on this cruise. We would be interested in meeting for a drink. Does anyone know if the offer a "Friends of Dorothy" meeting on this cruise?

Cheers

Hello,

FOD meetings are not advertised in the daily programme. However the meetings are (were in May) scheduled for 7.45pm in the Galleria Tastings. The signage saying Galleria Tastings was behind a net curtain and I made it my responsibility to draw back the curtain every time I passed. It's not the best of locations. There is a bar that specialises in very fancy cocktails using dry ice and foam. It's probably got the name Galleria as (a) the venue is the location of the 'art' (?!) that's for auction, and (b) it is a sort of gallery that overlooks some of the shops on the deck below. It always gave the feeling of being sat in a corridor. Few English went there (a nod to my Scottish friend that did), but lots of Americans drank there.

Best wishes,

Cublet

PS You can see me taking afternoon tea on The Lawn in the Cruise Critic photographs.

Hello,

Here I am http://pictures.cruisecritic.com/showphoto.php?photo=16364

Don't forget to sign up to the Celebrity Connections meeting - you'll get a drink or two and maybe a 'special invite' (I've been sworn to secrecy).

Best wishes,

Cublet

Hi there and thanks for the messages. We wish you were joining us on this cruise. This will be my first on Celebrity and Barry's first cruise. Please tell me what Celebrity connections is?

I am curious as to how many people showed up to FOD and were there more than one meeting on the cruise?

Cheers

Phillip

Hello,

Err, I know I'm only a simple Little Bear, but I thought I *WAS* going on this cruise (panic!)

If you start at the top: Cruise Critic Message Boards, then Roll Calls, then in the midst of a mass of names Celebrity Connections, given a few moments refresh time (and depending on your screen size), towards the top right of the screen will be a blue box with the Celebrity 'X' for you to click on that will open a Celebrity page for you to register. You will need your names, Celebrity Booking Reference, Ship and sail date. If you do it all correctly you will get a confirmation email to your nominated email address saying that you have successfully registered. It needs 25 people to form the party. The Celebrity Connections is a reception party only for Cruise Critic members.

FODs meetings were nightly, though few bothered. There were never more than 10 of us 'meeting', though a lot passed through.

Best wishes,

Cublet

Hi again. Thanks for the information. We are signed up.

Hello,

On the day of embarkation, or the day after, you will find in your cabin an invitation to the Cruise Critic Connections party (sometimes called Meet & Mingle after Royal Caribbean's name for it). I think the idea of the host for these events is to get them all out of the way as soon as possible as in May it clashed with the Celebrity Captains Club bash. You must sign up for the Captains Club. Membership is free and you can join after your first completed cruise. You earn points depending on how long your cruise lasts and the standard of cabin/suite occupied. You can see a link to the Captains Club on the top of the Celebrity web site that should tell you the benefits. The 'Loyalty Ambassador' shares an office with the Future Sales guy (also one of the family) on deck 5.

Best wishes,

Cublet
