Booking Restaurants on Discover II

Recommended Posts

Can you book the restaurants that you have to pay for, before you take the cruise.

No - you have to wait until you are on board and, as the speciality restaurants are popular, I would suggest you do this asap. Either go straight to one of the monitors by destination services on deck 5 to book using your cabin card or head direct to the restaurant of your choice and book via the maitre d' (when the monitors are showing dates as fully booked we found the maitre d' sometimes still had tables available).

We were on Discovery 2 in May and ate at Kora La - this was a pleasant evening but couldn't say it was anything spectacular with very small portions (my husband has very little appetite and even he commented on how little there was) and we did find service was rushed so don't think we would bother going there again. People we talked to who had visited Surf + Turf seemed much happier.

Have a great cruise - when not dining in the pay restaurants you will find the food in the two MDRs (47 and Gallery 47) excellent.
