Wind Spirit in Dry Dock

The Wind Spirit is in dry dock now in New Zealand. Work is being done in the dry dock at the Davenport Naval Base.

Do you know what is being done to the Wind Spirit while it's in dry dock?

The following is quoted from an email exchange between me and a Windstar agent. I wish they would give more detail than this.

General refurbishments to update the cabins and public areas to keep them at the Windstar luxury level J.

From what I understand, a complete Detailed Inspection and System Revision. All mechanical/electrical items on a ship (or a plane for that matter) have a due date for inspection, replacement, repair, cleaning, etc. I do not think they are adding anything significant at this time but it is in dry dock until May 1st. A 2 week drydock. If I hear anything exciting, I'll let you know.

Assuming the ship is actually dry docked, the bottom is cleaned and valves, seals, etc. that are in contact with seawater are checked/refurbished. Major and/or minor maintenance is done. Some refurbishment can be done in two weeks.

Been searching for photos of Wind Spirit in dry dock: She was definitively in need of a new coat of paint . She's getting also new decking as far as I can tell. Somebody on FB said we will be pleased with the work being done.

She floats :D

Out of drydock this morning and sailing toward Papeete sometime this week.
