Do we need a 2nd May Day Call

Come One Come All

May is here as you know

Now our diet we shouldn't blow

Summer will be here in a wink

Time to get serious don't you think

Seems like a few of us are missing each week

It's only ok if on a vacation we all wish and seek

We need old posters and new posters to come in

Need to help each other and we all win

Think we should post everyday

Just not on weigh-in day wouldn't you say

Keep us accountable in every way

Helps you keep track of what you weigh

Think eating the right food, portions control is the hard part

We really want more of the foods we shouldn't with all of are heart

Drinking water is easy for mostly every person

Sometimes feels like we drank every glass under the sun

Exercise is other hard thing for some of us to do

We think we're just eating less should lose inches we're due

But everything goes hand in had each day

For us to be healthly in every way

Good morning everyone.

Well, finally seem to have a little focus back, so reset my counter/clock/goal and started phase 2 fresh.

194 on Monday, but put the bad snacking behind and got the exercise ramped up much more.

Slow roasted a pork roast this week, some fajita chicken meat, protein powder breakfasts with a little L-Glutamine for recovery. Got some safflower oil/supplement, supposed to help curb hunger and boost metabolism some.

In n Out Burger yesterday - two, yes TWO burgers, protein style with no spread - 320 calories TOTAL! Nice treat.

Still liking my Hebrew National 40 calorie hotdogs on 50 calorie/slice wheat bread. Low fat cheese single grilled sandwich w/ deli turkey = 175 calories for the whole thing - you don't need butter to grill a fine sandwich, really.

192 this morning, on the way to 180 (-2lbs) for the week.

Step daughter graduates ASU today - chemical engineer with a job in hand already. Celebrating by sending her and her boyfriend to Europe for a couple weeks. Going to be a great day - followed by a great week!

Some fantastic posts last week-hoping this week is more of the same.

Good Morning,

I gained 1 lb. Well this is not good. I gained .5 lb. last week now 1 lb. this week.

Hmm, I too need to get my focus back.

Shootr, my hubby and I both also love those 40 calorie Hebrew national hot dogs. They are terrific.

Belle, always nice to have you here.

Hope everyone has a good week. Diana

Wow--great poem Belle!!

Shootr--you are inspiring!! Congratulations to your step-daughter--quite an accomplishment. It's nice to have them graduate AND have a job!

OK--time to get serious. I got a weight loss ticker set up--hope to see it move!! Also joined a gym this week. Went for the first time after work yesterday and I'm moving a little slow today:p. Now to get on track with my calorie intake. Going to hate missing happy hour:(.

We sail in 190 days--should be enough time to make my goal but it's going to take some dedication to get there. I didn't even come close to making the 10 pounds in 10 weeks by May 10 challenge.

Have a great week everyone. Drink skinny margaritas for Cinco de Mayo!!

I had lost my focus for the past couple of weeks and even gained last week:mad: There was no way I was going to break 160 again going the wrong way!!!

The good news is that this week I am at 157!!!!!!:p Knew I could beat that scale again. Best news of all is my husband, who could also stand to lose a few pounds, is also on a diet. Both of us being on a diet makes it a lot easier. Since he is retired, and a really good cook, he does all of the cooking during the week. Having him buy into the low cal idea really helps.

The thing that is working the best for me is saving part of my dinner for the mid evening that I know I am going to need. This way I still get a snack and am not increasing the amount of calories I eat every day. Really need some protien before I go to bed, otherwise I am up in the middle of the night eating things I should not because I am so hungry.

Shootr- I would like to join coopbax in congratulating you and your step daughter on her graduation and the job. My nephew is graduating from high school this year and I am so glad I do not have to deal with the job situation right now.

Go Forth and Lose Everyone.

Well my weigh in this morning showed .4 lb loss from last week. Seriously!?! The abuse I have unleashed on myself at the gym this week ~ I worked hard and should have seen a better number. Oh well, maybe that means a big loss next week!

Hope everyone had a successful week! :)

See that everyone is getting serious again.

It's so easy to get off track. As we all know!

We had some loss's this week..that is always good!

I gained 5 lbs the 4 weeks I was gone but the

week I've been back I lost the 5lbs. Which I

could lose that fast every week. Now that the

gain is off it will be a slow loss's from now on

but will not give up. Tired of staying the same.

(know it's better than gaining which I'm happy for)

Hope a great week for all of you and rest of you that

will be posting the next few days.

shootr..That's the key, plan ahead, have food ready.

Good job! Congrats on daughter and she has a job! Yeah!

How nice a trip to Europe.

Jo..Last week said she would be gone..to Paris and England.

Diana..Thanks. Both of us have to get focus..WE can

do it.

Shelly..Great on joining the gym. Don't know if people

remember the Challenge. Will see what happens next week.

Forbjz..That's nice husband joining you in losing. Makes it easier.

It's good you know yourself and know you need food in the

evening and worked on a solution.

Mcfam..Remember you can add muscle, water in muscle..at

the gym in the begining..it will all work out in the end.

Now me Belle....My problem is stress with with my mother

(illness, memory loss) I'm only child. Stress with my husband

(illness, memory loss) only wife. So I have to do everything.

5 years for my mother and 2 1/2 years husband.

Stress..EAT. Have to stop.

I know everyone has problems, more than me but when it's

deals with you..you can't help but feel overwhelm, like now

the heater isn't working as of this morning. Ignoring now!!

Not eating..just went to computer.. other addiction? LOL

Didn't mean to write a book but you know where I'm coming from now.

(I was different before, happier person..trying my best to be again)

So if I'm missing you will know I'm going thru major STRESS or busy

with them.

Thanks for listening and I hope understanding why I'm blabbing on!

Some days better than others. Need and love you all!

Belle, you are right...everyone has stress, but when it's your own stress it is a heavy weight to carry. Don't feel bad about venting here, that is what we are all here for. I just wish that you had someone to help you carry the burden.

I am up .5 this week. I also need to get my focus back. Now that my daughter had the baby and I can stop worrying about all the complications her pregnancy caused, I will be able to concentrate a little more on my eating habits.

Good luck this week, everyone.

GREAT WEEKEND! Got through Cinco de Mayo with NO alcohol, but had a great grilled chicken breast with tomatillo sauce, little bit of cheese, and 1/4 cup rice and beans. Then ate half a jalapeno on a bet - got my daily water allotment in one meal! Even with a trip to Cold Stone I still only hit 1350 calories for the day. (They have a "Sinless" ice cream, when mixed with triple berries, is only 150 calories or so for a small cup - about equal to a scoop)

Today I can't even get to my calorie goal - 1lb of grilled chicken, huge salad - still only at 750 calories at 5:30PM.

Getting 1.5 mile runs in with the dog every morning, then weights or another treadmill session later in the day.

Man it feels good to be able to celebrate with the rest and still stay on track. How'd everybody else do?

Hang in there Belle--remember exercise is a good stress buster and time for just YOU!!! Hope you can make that happen.

Shootr--you did better than me this weekend. Saturday we took an all day bike (motorcycle) ride and the always includes a stop for lunch and it's usually a 'cheat' day for me.

Today it's back on track and back to the gym---I'm determined to make that weight loss ticker move in the right direction!!:)

Have a great week everyone!!

PASTY'S!!! Grilled up some chicken, broccoli, and 'shrooms. Rolled some pre-made biscuit dough flat and lined a greased mini loaf pan with them. Filled them with the chicken and veggies, plus some provolone and covered with another thin layer of dough. Baked golden brown and delicious!

Total calories for one comes in at 800 calories, but I could only eat half at a sitting anyways. Nice to have something different, and the family all enjoyed them too.
