how do you feel about sea days?

I love sea days. The perfect cruise for me would be 7-9 days to nowhere!

On our next cruise, since it'll be too freaking hot, I'm likely staying on the ship, plus I've already done those ports a few times.

It really depends on WHY you cruise. My sil hates sea days and love our 5 port day cruise-she was busy and she's happy busy. Me, I don't want to be busy on vacation. I want lazy, I want naps, and I want to read, or wonder or do nothing.

Very first cruise had no sea days. That was perfect for us. Against my instincts just did the Dream in March which had 3 sea days. It was just too much for me. Thank goodness husband wasn't with me as he would have gone nuts. I enjoyed the ship but was kinda bitter being at sea when I knew if I had done the NCL trip on the same date we would have stopped at costa maya for a fourth port.

Now looking for a cruise for next year. Want a no sea day or 1 sea day trip if I can find it. They are slim pickings. Usually a southern Caribbean. It seems the bigger and newer the ship the more sea days.

May try a wind star trip.

I guess I'm the odd man out here....:o:o

I DO like my sea days, but I appreciate them more after 2 or 3 port days.

I don't think I could do an 8 night cruise to nowhere.:o

But last year on our 8 night Breeze cruise, we left Saturday, sea day on Sunday, and then ports Mon-Thur, and 2 sea days on the way back. Those were much appreciated, as we'd been "GOING" for those 4 days.:D:D

We like a combination of port and sea days. :)

I agree! Definitely a combo. I do love sea days though. When I cruise with my kids, we spend all day at the pool/water slides, when I cruise with just my husband, we spend the day doing trivia, laying around on deck, or hanging at the bar. Fun stuff! The only thing is the crowds....here's the lido deck on a seaday during my last cruise:

I love sea days to explore and relax. I sail for the ports though! I think 1 sea day for every port day is excellent...we enjoy the casino and looking at the art...maybe some time on serenity...it's fabulous

Are we strange in that our family loves sea days? I see it as a time for us all to get together and we play cards or games. My husband love to sit and watch the water go by. I find it more relaxing that running around on excursions.

So funny, my husband was just saying this last night. We ♡♥ sea days!

It all depends on what you want out of cruising. I guess most folks want beaches. I've lived in Fl. 50+ years, 10 minutes from the beach the whole time. Beaches got old by the time I was 8. I want to see the different cultures , how the islanders live, ruins and forts. So if its a port day with only beaches I'd just as soon it would've been a sea day. Now if it was a Baltic cruise that would be different.
