Default cash for fun pass sign in, but credit card later....

I know I've done this many times before, but I'm just making sure this hasn't changed in the past year. We signed up for "cash" on our sign/sail when we did our fun passes and we plan on checking in under the "cash" status at the check in desk. However, once we get on board, we need to put some of our guests on a credit card for their fun pass. Can we still do this? And, do we still have to wait an hour after sailing, to activate our sign/sail at the purser's desk? If so, how would we order the "drink of the day" when we board? Thanks for all your help...we leave Monday

Perhaps someone who has had this situation will respond, but my response would be:

- If you are going to put some of your guests onto credit card, then why not do it now while you are completing their check-in documentation online? At least that will make it quicker once you get to the purser's desk. If every single other guest in front of you (in that line) is making changes that really could have been done online earlier how long would that make you wait in the line.

- I think that they will allow you to run up a small balance on day 1 for a few drinks charges as it is reasonable that you will still be going to the purser's desk to pay in cash, but after that you will get blocked from further spending.

I just wanted to let you know that I was on the Fascination at the end of August and did a cash account. When we checked in to get our S&S card the agent told us that we could put cash on our account there before we boarded the ship that they were able to do that now, so we did and just kept our receipt to make sure it showed up on board. It was easy and didn't have to wait in line when we got on the ship.

We sail Monday and we've already done our check-in documentation/sign-sail account and we registered as cash.

The problem is, that we are putting some of our guests on our credit card and we are checking in at the platinum/priority office and they others are not platinum. So, I was wondering if I could still make those changes on board at the pursers desk?

The Guest Services desk has ALWAYS managed such requests with relative ease. Platinum, huh!?

What you can try to do is log-on to the booking(s) on Carnival's website and I think you might be able to edit the online check-in still to switch those that need to be credit card to have that completed. In the past I have done check-in online, and then have gone back in later to edit again. But YES, you can go to the purser's desk onboard.
