Hiring a Taxi for the Day

We will be six adults and wanted to visit a nearby cenote and tour a little bit of Merida. Is it possible to hire a taxi from Progreso to do this? Are taxis readily available? Do they have vans that will accommodate six? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

When we got off the ship, we just jumped on the Auto Progreso bus and were able to book something through Auto Progreso when we got to the drop off point. It was reasonable and we went to a nearby cenote. I believe there are taxis available, but, unfortunately, I don't have any information on them, since we didn't have to go that route.
