Holiday sailing on Seabourn

This is our first Seabourn cruise and it will span Christmas and New Years

Should I expect children on board?

Should I bring a tux? We live resort casual or elegant casual but I am wondering if the holidays inspire more cruisers to go formal

Yes, bring a tux. Christmas and New Year's Eve encourage dressing up and we have found a regular gang of distinguished cruisers who all seem to find themselves onboard for the celebrations.

Odyssey. Dec 19. Panama Canal. No roll call

We did the Panama Canal cruise last December. People definitely dressed up more than on other cruises, and that enhanced the festive atmosphere

Sorry, hit send but wanted to continue. Tux was the preferred dress of the majority of men. No children on our cruise.

You will find more tuxes on the holiday cruises than on the others but seriously if you want to wear a tux with a suit or dark sportcoat you will not be out of place. My DH does usually wear a tux ( and will on the three formal nights on our upcoming holiday Antarctica cruise) and I usually wear s long gown on formal nights on holiday cruises but that is just because we do enjoy dressing up.

And yes, you can expect more than the usually number of children on summer and holiday cruises. Our last holiday cruise on the a Quest Caribbean cruise there were maybe 4 children so not a big deal. We actually had more than that on our recent June Med cruise.
