Ashdod Port (Gaza next door?!)

Do Thomson change the itineraries when they're trouble in the area? Ashdod and Gaza are right next door to each other which has me a little worried!

Especially considering were there overnight :(

thomsons have dropped ashdod port....they are now going to rhodes/crete instead (i think?)

have they not informed you of this?

We are cruising May '15 and Rhodes is on the itinerary already. We did not research the ports at all. Were just happy to find a good deal. :(

Since booking I've been looking most days and now Ashdod seems like the best port on there and now seemingly in the middle of all the trouble :(

if not? they will go somewhere else...and 'hopefully' they will let you know in good time

in-any-event they will follow foreign office advice....they wont take you anywhere unsafe

Do you know if any excursions we'd paid for would be refunded? Or would we need to claim off travel insurance?

if they cancel your excursions they will refund you or you can cancel upto 24 hours before the excursion for a full refund (if you change your mind)

If Thomson cancel the port any prepaid excursions will be refunded.

Things will hopefully have settled down by the time you are due to sail. If not you will be taken to other ports.

Thomson should keep you informed, unfortunately they fail to do so at times and you don't find out about the changes till you are on board. This has happened to us on two occasions in the past.
