Port of Call San Juan

There are two free buses, with different routes, in San Juan that we have taken. You can get off and on whenever you want, however there are bus stops. (In St. Maartin the buses-large vans- will stop when you flag them down.) You get the buses by turning left when you leave the port and stop on the corner across the street. There is a bus stop sign there.

I can recommend going to El Moro. This is the fort built in the 1500's. You pass it going into and out of the port. It is fascinating and fun to explore! The bus stops there but it is a LONG walk up to it unless you take the open air park bus there. Google it!

In St. Martin we have taken the local bus and just ride it until we come back to where we started or get off at a beach or in Margeno (SP!), the French capitol. It is a local bus and you pay when you get off the bus. (Think its $2.00 now but I could be wrong.) However it does not go the nude beach, Orient beach.

Moho Beach is interesting because it is right AT the airport. You have to hold on the chain link fence when a plane is landing or taking off or you'll get blown over!
