Saw this on the Alaska board and figured a heads up here would not hurt.

On Sunday Seattle will hold the Pride Parade along 4th Ave starting at 11am. I'm not sure what time streets will start to be shut down but last year our cab driver said parade permits are for 4 hours and the streets will remain closed even after a parade has cleared by. We were trying to get the ship around noon and the streets, even those where they staged up, were still closed so we had to go almost to Pioneer Sq to get around from 6th ave. So be sure to allow yourself more time to get to the ship if you need to cross 4th Ave

Pride will probably be insane with people! (actually, if you are so inclined, it might be fun to check out - but probably not enough time unless you are in Seattle the night before)

It is worth checking out the game schedules if you are coming to Seattle any other weekend for the Pearl, FYI. Even when they are terrible, we in Washington tend to support the teams and that means TRAFFIC. If something is going on at the center, forget about it.

When we cruised out of Seattle I found out (by accident when checking for things to do) that the weekend we were going to be there that there was going to be a huge festival so we had to modify our plans. Fortunately when the car service picked us up at the airport it was during a baseball game otherwise we would have gotten stuck in before or after game traffic, We got a room at the Marriott Waterfront and walked to

the aquarium and ferris wheel instead of staying downtown and going to the space needle,

etc. You can also walk to Pike's market from the hotel and there are lots of great restaurants too. This hotel is right across the street from the pier and you can walk to the ship.
