Wonderland dinning?

Heading off on Quantum in a week wife DW and my Veteran cruising parents. And I haven't seen many reviews / comments about Wonderland.

This dinning location both scars me and intrigues me. I see the :list o elements" on the Royal website about Wonderland, but I don't see a real description o how it works?

So how does a dinner at Wonderland work?

I haven't been there yet but have read a few reviews about it. Basically, when you get there you "paint" a piece of paper and your menu will appear. Your waiter will let you order a couple things, ask you a bunch of questions about likes and dislikes, then take over the ordering for you based on how you answered their questions. It's for people who are adventurous in eating, willing to try foods not normally found on regular menus. Definitely not for kids, unless they are willing to eat wacky stuff. Pretty sure there is a kids menu, but you may still have to pay the specialty restaurant fee for them. Not 100% sure on that.

You basically pick (or have the waiter suggest) item(s) from each element. Then they bring out each item & explain what's in it, how it's prepared, etc. There is more than enough to share for the table. You will also order one or two meat dishes to share. Then dessert can either be shared or not, as well.

A very different restaurant is the beautiful, unique and wonderful restaurant inspired by Alice in Wonderland.

A sumptuous decor, with beautiful colorful glass and a fantastic menu. Staff is the right mix of eccentric and entertaining.

Serving starts with a menu card that allows a choice between dishes from - Sun, Ice, Fire, Water, Earth and Dreams - each with a selection of small and shareable dishes.

It can highly be recommended to sit back and let the staff choose, based on what kind of food you prefer: fish, seafood, vegetables, meat, or a combination of them all. The food is served on small plates, and are shareable dishes.

Remember to leave room for the amazing desserts.

Wonderland sounds... wonderful!

I love food and am not fussy at all like some people. Adventurous dining is so exciting for me!

I can't wait to try this venue in September! It sounds a little like Qsine on Celebrity in some respects. If so... be prepared to eat LOTS of food!!

We really enjoyed Wonderland. Our waiter was Marlin and he asked if we had any allergies or foods we didn't like. then he suggested we let him pick the meal. So we did. The only thing I wanted to make sure we received was 'Soil'. The vegetable dish. I wanted to see how they created that because I want to duplicate it for a dinner party.

I think we had 8 courses or so. Everything was great. Make sure you have the Key Lime lollipops as one of your deserts. We shared 3!

No kids' menu there. My husband ran up to Windjammers to get our son some food. If I recall correctly, they refunded us all but $8.00 of the fee we prepaid for our son, who did eat the dessert and tried a few dishes.

We are booked to eat and Wonderland and wonder if anyone can help with a question. We are looking at buying the premium drinks package which gives wine up to 12 dollars a glass.

Do they do wine by the glass in this restaurant (or any of the other specialist ones if you happen to know)

All of them had a by the glass option.

As for my review, yes it was very interesting. Appitizers were very odd. Me and my DW were questioning if we were going to be getting a pizza at Sorrento's after, but we toughed it out, also helped by my parents eating most of the food offered at that time.

But the main OMG :eek: :D The pork, chicken, and beef were amazing, though left the fish for my parents. And the desserts, we got one of each and shared, though DW took most of the Molten Lava Cake. I loved the cheesecake with apple... candy sticks. If you are going on Anthem and like trying strange food go for it.

I say Anthem only cause I will not be surprised that when Quantum gets to China they remove Wonderland and replace with a pile of 50 slot machines or Whale table game room. Cause they said there were going to be some changes when they get to China including some "rearranging" of some of the restaurants. :rolleyes:

If the kid is a kids menu fan they will not enjoy anything except dessert in Wonderland. If you have little foodies they may love it as much as my kids did. In fact the kids liked it better than DH and myself.

There is no kids menu and they did refund in OBC and only charged me $8 for my DS.

It was a fun experience. Very different, some food was great, meats, desserts and liquid lobster...some not to our tastes pea soup and the olive (shudder)

If you have heard of "Heston Blumental" and most people in the UK have, then this restaurant is like his Fat Duck menu but on a smaller scale. The Fat Duck you get 15 courses and lasts 4 1/2 hours, also costs £300 ($450) per person.

If you have seen Heston on TV (if not google him on youtube or 4OD) and want to experience some of his food, then try this.

Too many people eat with there eyes and not with taste. Heston proved this and did a starter that looked like and apple but was made from meat. It's more science and play than a normal sit down and eat.

I've booked this restaurant twice on my cruise in July.
