Hotels near pier in New Orleans

All you have to do is sign up for the total rewards and play there slots for 30 minutes for free parking. You put your card in the slot machine and then just play real slow. To get seven days free you would play for 210 minutes. The casino is real close to the port. If you want to see the port go to nola.com and click on web cams. Select bridge cam and you will be looking right at the cruise terminal. You can see conquest there on sunday mornings and watch it leave port at 6PM.

Sounds like you want the Hilton. Call and ask for the cruise special. It's $99 (only valid for one night), and parking is free while you're on your cruise. You do have to pay $22 for the first night's parking (pre-cruise). But, you're getting 8 days of parking in New Orleans for just $22. And that's a great deal!

I haven't heard of any New Orleans hotels close to the pier that have a free shuttle. Cab shouldn't be much from the Hilton.

If you stay at the Hilton, it is walking distance to the pier in N.O. But since we have so much luggage, we will drop our luggage off at the pier and then go back to the hotel to park our car. Then we can take a leisurely stroll through the mall and even stop by at Cafe Dumonde (in the mall) and have some beignets. The Galleria Mall is right beside the Hilton and you have to walk through it to get to the pier, so luggage can be a problem. We got the "cruise special" for just $99 with free parking for the duration of our cruise as some of the CCers have mentioned here.:D The number for the Hilton in N.O. is 1-504-561-0500. If they don't give you the deal when you call the local number try the main Hilton number. I've had many CCers say that the local no. said no but the main Hilton phone line said yes to the cruise special and they got the deal. The toll free main Hilton phone no. is 1-800-hiltons.

Another option for hotels in the N.O. area if the Hilton deal doesn't pan out is at: http://www.nomcvb.com/travelagent/cruisedetails.htm. This was created for TA's to use for their cruising clients. It details the hotel specials in the N.O. area that cater specifically to cruise passengers. There are some very good deals listed there.:) Some of the deals include free parking, free shuttle service to the pier, free cocktails for two, free breakfast, free mardi gras gift, and one hotel even offers a free limo to the pier. I would definitely check out this site! Hope this helps, good luck on finding a good hotel deal in N.O.

Regarding Hampton Inn, Convention Center....is it walking distance to the pier? Has anyone stayed there and done this? I'm thinking of this hotel for the night before our Conquest cruise. Any other information about this hotel/location would be helpful too. Thanx

Yes, the Hampton Inn at the Convention Center is in walking distance!

There are railroad tracks alongside the Riverwalk. You can't just cross them anywhere to get to the pier. You either have to go up the escalator to the Riverwalk Food Court and walk out to the pier or walk around the Convention Center.
