Dolphin Discovery at Chankanaab

Has anyone done the dolphin swim recently and know if they allow you to use your own underwater cameras? Have heard that they advertise as not allowing it, but people have been able to when they start. Can anyone confirm?

They stopped allowing you to use your own camera I believe a few years ago. The first time (and second actually) that we did this, we were allowed to have our own cameras with us. As you can imagine, people that did this didn't buy their photographers pictures at the outrageous prices and they were losing money and stopped allowing this. :(

Sorry, but you aren't going to get to use your own camera. BIG no no. They want to sell the photos and the videos.

Can someone give me info....do you have to get to the park on you on? What time is the earliest apptment? How long does it last? I want to meet up with group to tour the island.....

i just booked it for my cruise and the first time offered was 830 -- its about 10 min ride - site says you get 40 mins for the dolphins.

They did not allow us a couple years ago. I love dolphins but I won't do this again. The entire experience is designed around taking your picture in different poses; ruined it IMHO

If you book thru the ship, the taxi fare is included (also included is tip).

First time we went we used our own underwater camera and got nice pics.

Last time three years ago they did not permit it.

We broke down and bought one picture and it was very pricey. They put it on a chip to print when you got home.

Excellent excursion.

We ate on the beach, Mexican and survived, did not get sick.

And swam

Very hot and only lasted about one hour.
