Outrigger in Honolulu

I'm not sure this is the correct forum - moderator, can you please move if it is not?

My husband stayed at the Outrigger East and West before his mother passed away about 30 years ago. He wants to stay at one of these again for the memory.

In looking at the reviews, pictures, etc, these hotels looks to be very rundown.

has anyone seen these hotels lately? Have you stayed at it lately?

If I have to choose one of these - which one should I choose and why?

Thanks in advance,

Gale

Another recommendation to check Trip Advisor reviews. As with cruise reviews, look at the average ratings and ignore those extreme highs and lows which sometimes only rant about details that might not matter to you. I'd be very surprised if any Outrigger Hotel was run down, as they manage many hotels on several of the islands and generally do a pretty good job. They manage a resort on the Big Island where we own a condo, and they do a very good job of maintenance and keeping the property attractive and clean.

We had dinner there at the very popular Duke's Restaurant which was fabulous. I did not see anything I would consider rundown. Their website does indicate that all guest rooms have been renovated with new furniture and decor. It also indicates the property earned Trip Advisor's Certificate of Excellence for 2013 and is a AAA 3 Diamond property. As others have recommended, take a look at the reviews on Trip Advisor, sister site of Cruise Critic.
