This will be the first time I am taking my 'All new electric go chair' (wheelchair not scooter). At what point will I have to use the airport's wheel chair. I am unable to walk now. Previously I only used the airport's wheelchair at the gate when boarding because i could not manage steps to get onto the aircraft. Will my electric wheel chair have to be checked in with my luggage or will it be transported into the hold once I have used the ambi lift into the aircraft. If it makes any difference we normally fly with Jet2

Based on the fact that you state that you could not manage the steps onto the aircraft than you're flying on a smaller aircraft in which passengers board directly on the tarmac via steps and not through a jet way that connects to the aircraft at the same level of the boarding entrance. For this vary reason you need to contact Jet2 to find out exactly what they want you, In fact Jet2's website has very specific instructions regarding mobility scooters that also includes contacting the airline in advance of the flight. Here's the link http://www.jet2.com/faqs/medical-and-special-assistance/#gsc.tab=0 than click on "Do you allow the carriage of wheelchairs & mobility aids?"
