123linz123 Posted November 17, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 17, 2014 How close to the cruise sailing date can you still book? Does anyone know please? Thank you L
2SailingNomads Posted November 17, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 17, 2014 I'm not sure if there is an exact cutoff but I know of someone who booked a few (3 if I recall) days before a sailing, it was a Caribbean cruise so not sure if any ports have specific cut off dates. You TA should know.
Emperor Norton Posted November 18, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 18, 2014 I'd think it would depend upon the itinerary and what passport you're traveling under.
secoma4 Posted November 19, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 19, 2014 Wouldn't the criteria be ability to provide cleared funds by sailing date. Beyond that it's up to you to get to the port of embarkation in time with whatever passport you have.

Depending upon what passport you travel under and what countries you're visiting it may take more advance notice than showing up the day of the cruise. Id recommend verifying through the line. secoma4 Posted November 20, 2014 #7 Share Posted November 20, 2014 The passport "issue" is something Seabourn clearly puts back on the passenger. Apart from needing to nominate a passport when you book there is no requirement for you to have a visa for any particular country. The issue will be that the passenger who doesn't have a visa, if required, will not be allowed off the ship if they arrive in a country where they need one. This has happened, in our experience, with passengers, guest speakers and crew. There is no pre-vetting involved. You pay your money and, assuming the booking is accepted, arrive to board the ship with a valid passport.
