Most embarassing moments on your cruise. What are they? :-)

We all know we have them at some point during vacation. What is your most embarassing moment you've had on your cruise? Whether it be during an excursion, on land, on the ship...doesn't matter. Something you said that you shouldn't have during the Love and Marriage Game Show on RCCL? Did something that might cause extra laughter during the Quest...it's just all for laughs and memories, so spill. This should get interesting.

I don't really have a good one I can think of yet, but I'll post up some more as I think of them. So far, mine is when we were on Voyager in '04. We were on one of the islands, not sure which, but my family and I did a bike excursion. I think it was around 2-4 miles that we covered on the bikes, and we had jeeps that followed us to make sure everything was going all right. It was hot out, and the riding got difficult at some parts, so I walked every now and then. Half way through the excursion, I was pretty behind from the group, so I got back on the bike to catch up, and my bike chain broke. I got even more behind and the guy driving the jeep had to go up to tell the tour guide to wait so I had time to get another bike. Everyone was watching me, and waiting. It was just bad, I think I held up the group for ten minutes or so. Haha, no more bike trips for me.

On my first cruise, RCCL, on the last day of the cruise, which was a sea day, I went to the Windjammer for an afternoon snack. I got a plate of nachos and brought them to the pool deck, as many were doing. As soon as I stepped outside a huge gust of wind carried all my nachos, (beef, cheese, tomatoes, chips) onto this older gentleman who was sitting and relaxing in a chair. I was so embrassed and felt bad, but I had to run inside before anything else was taken in the wind!:o

 I would have been terrified. That is embarassing. Hopefully the guy saw that the cloud had a silver lining...he got free food without having to get up. That would have worked for me. haha At least it was the last day too, so you wouldn't have to worry about coincidentally seeing him much more on the ship.

We were on Holland America's Oosterdam on formal night. I was wearing my cocktail dress and heals and the boat was a little rockier than usual. As I was trying to walk down the stairs the boat swayed and I lost my balance and practically tumbled down some steps in front of two elderly ladies. My husband just watched me as I "ate it!" :(

Not me, but you know on the last day, at breakfast, when everyone had been warned about leaving clothes out to disembark in? Well a couple from California came to the table. She was dressed nicely, he was wearing a Kamono and sandals. I thought it was a California thing and he could have carried it off, but he admitted that was all he was wearing and he forgot to leave out some clothes. On the bright side, He did get through customs quick:)

It takes a little bit to get used to the rocking. I've fallen over a couple times. Luckily not near some stairs though. However, my family gets inside staterooms on RCCL, which normally has 1-2 top bunks. Normally, I'm the one who gets the top bunk, so I have fallen off them a couple times too due to the ship's movements. P.S. Never go up the ladder to the bunk when the ship is rocking more than average, I fell through the ladder once because of that, and the ladder fell off the bed the second time. Haha.

I was lacking apparel when room service knocked on my door. I quickly grabbed a blanket and opened the door. He politely handed me my food, but I could hear him giggle after I closed the door.

Haha, that happens often with my family. At least once on every cruise vacation. They do plan the perfect moments to walk in.

We were sailing on the Zuiderdam and it was formal night and the seas were VERY rough. I was in heels and we walking to our table. I was trying to walk straight in my heels on the wavy seas but I lost my balance and kind of fell to the side and I reached out and ended up grabbing a dining room stewards backside:o

i was walking down the 5th floor of the Norwegian majesty, where all the activity's and such are. I was looking at something, and a lady was coming my way, towards me and looking at another thing, well we didn't see each other, and slammed right into each other, both on the ground.

Great subject and posts!

This will pale against some of the others but here goes.....

While sailing on the Sovereign I came out of the ladies room with a 3 foot trail of TP stuck to the back of my shorts!  I was so embarrassed. Good thing our friends were waiting outside the door and they quickly came to my aid!

DH & I were used to only inside cabins until one cruise when the cruiseline bumped us up to an OV on a 10-day cruise.

We were about an hour out of port when I walked out of the bathroom with nothing on except my terry cloth bath robe. My robe wasn't tied and the sides were, let's say flapping in a wind that wasn't there at the time.

Still remember the smiles and thumbs up comming from the crew aboard the fishing ship trailing alongside our cabin at the time.

Have never walked out of the bathroom without my robe tied since -- whether we're booked in a balcony, OV or inside cabin.

Some memories are jsut too hard to forget.

I was on the Song of Norway in 1974 and we were rockin and a rolling. I was getting sicker by the moment. But I was stubburn and refused to go back to my cabin It was Formal night and new to cruising then and didn't want to miss meeting the captain. Just as I was being introduced the dam broke and his uniform wasnt so nice and clean any more. The humiliation was total!

Ok...one margarita down an believe me when I say it only takes one!

After asking where the restroom was I was directed to the general area.

Walked in, while using the restroom someone else came in and took care of business and left. When I came out of the stall to wash my hands that is when I noticed the URINALS!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I RAN OUT....I must have been nine shades of red!!!!!!!!!

BTW: when you walked into the single door you entered LEFT for the mens side, and Right for the womens....needless to say for the rest of the cruise I triple checked all restroom door signs!!!!!!!!!!!!

In March, we (Me, my sister, and 2 daughters 21 and 17) were on the Holiday and doing an Edventure Tour in Calica. Our first stop was the ruins at Tulum - also where Edventure's shop is. We were there before the ruins were open, and needed to use the restroom. We were directed to the building housing gift shops, cafes, etc by the ruins. It was quite deserted since it wasn't open yet. When we arrived at the women's restroom, they had it blocked because it was being cleaned. The janitor directed us into the men's restroom and escorted us in. My sister was leading the way and hurrying towards a stall. The janitor was trying (in Spanish) to get her attention and pointed to a sign on the wall. There was a huge roll of toilet paper with a sign above it instructing you to take what you need. We thought this was hysterical (after the janitor left) and I commented that it would make a great scrapbooking page. We whipped out our cameras and video camera to capture this great moment forever on film. In fact, there was another sign over the sink - No washing of the hair or foot in sink. Another great shot. We were laughing and having a great time taping when a man made a quick exit from one of the stalls! Our video camera goes dead at this point (although my daughter did catch the guy exiting on film) and we all just about died laughing. We can only imagine what this poor man thought - leaving his stall to find 4 women laughing and videotaping. We have probably traumatized him from using public restrooms for life! We were somewhat traumatized, too. Half of the stalls didn't have doors or seats. We weren't really able to accomplish what we had entered for :D and had to use a restroom at our next stop - the cenote Dos Ojos!

We were on our honeymoon and going through security at Port of Miami. I had packed the night before (long story), and threw in a gift bag of lingerie that I had received at a shower. I hadn't bothered to check the contents before throwing it in the suitcase, and had no concerns until the security lady pulled me aside. In front of every-damn-body in the port of Miami, a pair of handcuffs were retrieved from my gift bag in my suitcase. Never noticed those at my shower! I guess they had to say loudly what the item was, just in case everybody in the port did not SEE them. The weird part was that I had to then explain them to the little lady at the confiscation desk (or whatever they call it). She asked where my little one was. Not sure what they do in her household, but people I know don't attach their children to them with handcuffs. I explained that I did not have a child with me. She then gave me the dirtiest look ever, like I was some kinda perv. What a way to start the trip. To make things worse, my husband quickly walked off when it all started and acted like he didn't know me!

We were river tubing in Dominica and having a blast. We hit a strong set of rapids within a few minutes and almost all of us took a tumble from our tubes. I was so proud of my quick recovery until the excursion down the river was about over. My husband grabbed my tube, pulled me aside and THEN informs me that I had "fallen out" of my halter-style swimsuit. I had been oblivious to the fact that I was floating down the river with my "buoy" hanging out. :o

I dont' know why he didn't notice sooner. Normally that wouldn't be an issue. I suppose that there are quite a few people from that excursion who have "naughty" pictures of me. I have to wonder who else noticed.

I don't understand the problem. Did you try to use the urinals?
