SteffilovesRCCL Posted July 20, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 20, 2016 Hello, we will be docked at the Fisherman Island Grain Terminal on October 30th 2016 and are interested to visit the Gold Coast, especially Surfers Paradise! We tried to book a rental car but since it's a Sunday all stations in the city center close at 1pm. Now I looked up the Royal Caribbean excursions and found one with that title: Day at the Gold Coast - BS10. It doesn't say to which beach the transfer is, but it says you can spend the time on your own. Did anyone of you guys that excursion? Where is it going to? I really appreciate your help or any other ideas how we could manage to visit Surfers Paradise! Thanks! Stefanie

Stefanie Is there anything specific that you want to do at the Gold Coast - long trip to just visit the beach? Weather should be good but cannot guarantee - Perhaps if you could be more specific we might be able to help more. As a tip you should also be checking your Roll Call for your cruise as fellow cruisers might be organising private tours that might appeal to you as well
Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted July 23, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 23, 2016 Also it really doesn't matter if you go to Main Beach, Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, or anything else near those. It's all the same beach!
SteffilovesRCCL Posted July 23, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted July 23, 2016 The reason, why we want to go to Surfer's Paradise, is to buy a T-Shirt at the Hard Rock Cafe :) So how far away is it?
Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted July 24, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 24, 2016 (edited) 89kms (55 miles) from the port, around 1 hour 15 minutes by car. Just a thought - you should post that on your roll call. There maybe someone from that area who could get you the T-Shirt before the cruise and give it to you onboard. That way if the excursion doesn't work out you could still get the T-Shirt.
