Norwegian: New All-Inclusive Package

on 30 July 2014.

Norwegian Cruise Line is debuting a new All-Inclusive package, providing guests another way to customize their cruise vacation.

Representing more than $2,400 in value per stateroom, Norwegian’s All-Inclusive package is a first for major cruise lines, and is available for a limited time for all 2015 sailings fleetwide (see fine print), for new reservations made from August 4, 2014 through August 29, 2014. The comprehensive package includes signature dining, alcoholic beverages, unlimited soda, shore excursions, internet access, service charges and more.

“Based on the popularity of our Fly, Cruise and Stay vacations, along with our onboard dining and beverage packages, we are now offering the first All-Inclusive package for our guests who want to experience all that the freedom and flexibility of Freestyle Cruising has to offer,” said Kevin Sheehan, Norwegian Cruise Line’s chief executive officer. “Always an innovator, we are making it easy for those that want everything included in their cruise vacation with the option of our All-Inclusive package.”

The All-Inclusive package is available for 2015 sailings from three to 14 days in length, is priced by the number of days, and is available for all stateroom categories, including the Haven by Norwegian. When adding the All-Inclusive to a selected cruise, guests receive 10 percent off the cruise fare.

For a seven-day cruise, the $899 package includes the Ultimate Dining package; the Ultimate Beverage package; shore excursion credit of $200 per person, pre-paid daily service charges; a 250-minute Internet package per person; 20 photos of any size; chocolate-covered strawberries; a bottle of wine; one bingo session and six bottles of water. For cruises from three to five days, the shore excursion credit is $100 per person; and for sailings from 9-14 days, the package includes 12 bottles of water.

As part of the All-Inclusive offer, Norwegian’s Ultimate Dining package provides complimentary access to one of the line’s specialty restaurants every night of the cruise, including Cagney’s, the popular steakhouse; French bistro, Italian restaurant, Moderno Churrascaria, Asian-Fusion restaurant and more. The Ultimate Beverage package includes a variety of spirits, cocktails, draft beer, bottled beer and glasses of wine up to $10 and unlimited fountain soda and juices at all bars, lounges, restaurants and on Norwegian’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay.

Saw this where? Not enough nitty gritty detail on the flight aspect of this and cabin costs relative to the $899 cost to really have an opinion ... I do realize this cost does not include the flight.

All inclusive is always bonus for sure, it comes down to final $$$. $899 sounds pretty low so would like to know what that package really is to do a like for like comparison, a $2400 value?! wow ... seems a wide gap.

Maybe I'm not reading correctly but I might consider paying $899 for that!

No, it doesn't include flight. It also doesn't include the stateroom itself.

You may already realize this, but I can't tell based on the fact that you're saying it doesn't include the flight.

It was posted by a reputable TA on Facebook. Also included one other part at the very end...

*Includes all scheduled 2015 sailings from three to 14 days (excludes back to back sailings)

**Does not include Pride of America; not applicable to bookings made in Continental Europe or United Kingdom.

It's a good value only if you would have used all those services, and/or products. I never play bingo and I never buy bottles of water. I don't drink but 1 drink a day although a soda or two would be good. I also never buy 20 photos or eat all meals in a specialty restaurant. They are getting a $899 tab on the cabin guaranty this way. My tab is usually around $300 so they are enticing me to spend an extra $600 which is not for me.

I will pass on this deal.

IS THIS PER PERSON OR COUPLE?

Is it me or is it odd to offer a free bottle of wine when the UBP would be included?

To me a free bottle of wine when you have the UBP is sort of stupid and a waste and sort of just a fluff perk and thus shouldn't be considered in the value - it would be like adding in the 'value' of all the free iced-tea/tap water that is included in the cruise fair at that point.

Edit to add: I do understand bottles of wine are NOT included in the UBP however the free bottles the offer you can get by the glass at an unlimited amount with the UBP so thus the perk of it being in a bottle on your table is just baffling to me.

Regular prices of components:

7 Day Ultimate Dining: Regular Price $119

7 Day Ultimate Beverage: $434.70

$200 Shore Excursion Credit: $200

$12 daily Service Charge: $168

That comes out to $921.70, so you're getting the strawberries, wine, Internet, photos, bingo, and water for "free".

*IF* you're already buying all of this, it's a deal. But that's a big if.

And I'm not sure it's worth the hassle calling it the "all-inclusive" package when there's still a lot of stuff (spa, bowling, ala carte eateries) that's not included.

Personally, I don't even want to eat every dinner in specialty restaurants, since the MDR is fine with me, I wouldn't benefit from the beverage package (not that I couldn't), I don't play Bingo, don't want that many pictures of myself, etc.

About the only thing of value to me would be the excursion credit and the gratuities, so I won't be buying this.

I can certainly see how it could be a value for some folks.

Is it per person or for the whole cabin? If you have 5 or 6 in a cabin, do you really need 120 photos, 1500 internet minutes?

OP give a hint which page to look at I would like to read the terms & conditions

That is 2 people, the DSC is $84 for a week

The bottle of wine ad the chocolate strawberries is often part of an incentive package, so I can see why it was included with this offer.

Not worth it to me as my per person bill is much less than this. Even when adding in the 10% cruise discount I would not purchase it. I can see how it would be tempting to anyone who buys the UDP and UBP, ship excursions and a few photos though.

.....here is what I found as the breakdown (7 day cruise):

1. Dining Package for 2 = 238

2. Beverage Package for 2 = 869.40

3. Shore Excursions for 2 = 400

4. DSC for 2 = 168

5. (2) 250 MB internet packages = 200

6. 20 photos = 400

7. Chocolate Covered Strawberries = 12

8. Bottle of wine = 25

9. 1 Bingo session = 20

10. 6 bottles of water = 25

11. 10% off the cruise fare = ???.00

Grand Total = $2357.40 + 10% off the cruise fare.

So IMHO, $899 seems like a fair price for all of the above.

Did I miscalculate anything or leave anything out?

Is it $899 Per person? If it's per person it's not a good deal at all. Your numbers are based on it being for 2 people which I don't know is a given. Edited by cruzsnooze

Most likely this is not for us. And for some reason it makes me a little sad. What about Freestyle and doing what you wish when you wish. With this package one could feel obligated to do all these things and eat and drink a lot.

"No honey, we paid for the specialty restaurants so we are not going to grab something from the buffet and bring it back to cabin."

With the Haven passengers and the all inclusive passengers will that make the rest of us steerage:eek:

The Ultimate Beverage package includes a variety of spirits, cocktails, draft beer, bottled beer and glasses of wine up to $10 and unlimited fountain soda and juices at all bars, lounges, restaurants and on Norwegian’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay.

.....If you look in the original post, it says a $200 excursion credit and 250 Internet Package PER PERSON. So with that said, I'm looking at the package price is for 2 people.

If i am wrong, please let me know.

Freestyle is about choice, and this package offers that- someone will buy it because they would use enough of the items to warrant the expense, so either they would have bought the UDP and would use it with this new package (so they would be eating in a specialty restaurant every night anyway) or they get enough value to justify the rest of the package without including the UDP (and it wouldn't matter to them where they ate). I'm personally not interested in the UDP so if I did buy the package I would eat where I wanted to without worrying about not receiving value for $ spent.

And I am probably right thinking it is per person and everyone in your cabin would have to purchase it. I just did the math for us and it is not worth it at all.

But it's $899 per person, so, $1798 for two. Potential savings of $559. Everyone will have to do the math on what it's worth to them. Would never work for us.

Why guess when you can call NCL and ask. I just called and it's $899 PER PERSON so if you are 2 in a cabin it's a whooping $1798, way out of line with what we spend for the 2 of us.

What I figured it would be. Wonder if kids would receive a discount (or the third and fourth passenger in a cabin).

Not a good package for me.

I get a casino drink card so no need for the UBP and don't buy or need all those pictures, I don't drink wine, i bring my own water and soda, I like the MDRs we eat at Cagneys and tepanyaki for our specialty restaurants just 2 of the nights out of 7. Also aren't they offering a much cheaper and better internet package recently? So what would I be paying $899 for? Chocolate covered strawberries and the DCS? Clearly not for me. But to each their own.
