Quebec City as a Departure Port and Parking

We are cruising this october and are leaving from Quebec City, there are several of us on our Roll Call who are driving and looking for a place to leave our cars during our 12 day cruise. We have received limited information from the Parking Terminal at the Port and Im wondering if any of you have done long term cruise parking there ? It seems they dont let you pre reserve a spot and you just have to take a chance there will be something for you . How big is the parking terminal and how far is it from the ship, I cant seem to find out if there is a shuttle or what most people do. Also if you cant get a spot in the Parking Terminal at the port are there any other options ???? Thanks in advance for any help
