Default weight limit

Hi,

We are flying out to Barbados on 1st March for cruise N304A on Ventura. Because this is a 3 week cruise I am trying to save on weight. I was going to buy most of my toiletries at the airport eg: shampoo, conditioner, sun creams, aftersun, toothpaste etc: (I can pack an extra dress). Can I do this and carry on as handluggage? Have people done this in the past?

Many thanks

The answer is yes provided, of course, that you buy them airside after going through security. They will technically form part of your hand baggage and should be placed in the latter.

I've just returned from Azura and must say the toiletries provided on board were lovely. I used them all the time. Could have left my own at home. Obvioulsy needed my own sun cream and toothpaste.

Hi,

We are off on 28th on Azura and are planning to buy Shampoo etc airside as they don't weigh your hand luggage again after checking in.

Anyone who has been recently....did anyone notice if the Suncream was on buy one get one free in boots?! It is in the shop in my town but want to buy it at the airport really!

Thanks!
Louise

I have to agree with Starbright the toiletries on board Azura were lovely.
I still miss the shower oil. It had such a distinctive spell that when we went out on to the balcony in the evening the smell would waft up from the balconies below ours. It was obviously popular with everyone !
I didn't use the shampoo as I had brought my own but it was brilliant for washing a few essential items. You might get away with carrying toiletries bought at the airport in a separate bag but I wouldn't risk it personally as these days they do seem to insist that everything is in one bag. I always hate having to squash a handbag into the flight bag as well.
I did get away with carrying my coat in a see through bag on the way home but I was ready to carry it over my arm if necessary.

It certainly wasn't at Gatwick on 25 Jan as I looked for some and thought how expensive it was. We actually bought some on board when we got there. I'd get it before you go

P&O Supply Shower gell, Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Lotion.
All 4 are really nice for either Him or Her.

You'll need Toothpaste and Brushes and Gents need their Shaving kit.

The On Board shop sells a fair range of toiletries.
Don't forget Nail Clippers !

Alex.

Thanks for the update. I was hoping you'd say the opposite as sun cream takes up precious weight but with it being so much cheaper on the high street it'd be daft not to buy it there. Thanks!
