Ideas for a solo day trip Nassau?

I am on a 4-day cruise over NYE, and we are docked in Nassau from 7:00 - 10:00 pm. I did the straw market the other time I was there, and we took a cab to a beach. I am cruising with friends, but they are not booking anything for Nassau. I don't think I want to stay on the ship all day.

I am reading good reviews for Cable Beach, but wondering now about safety and all that.

There is also Sandy Toes, and I believe you can book a tour. Atlantis seems fine, but I would like more time since we're there all day (even though I know it will get dark early as far as the beach goes).

I'm not really interested in city tours or the forts. Looking to relax on the beach, and if there are drinks and food nearby, that's great.

Any thoughts?
