Milford Sound Tour to Queenstown Overnight on the Solstice

You'll certainly see some stunning scenery on that excursion. The drive from Dunedin to Queenstown is very pretty and Queenstown is gorgeous, as is Arrowtown. Gibbston Valley make great wines. A trip on the steamship Earnslaw is always great fun and I'm sure the Walter Peak dinner will be good.

The Queenstown hotel looks very nice but be aware it is located about a 20-25 minute walk from the main township, with an uphill climb when walking back to the hotel.

The drive to Te Anau is also very pretty and from there into Milford Sound it is just spectacular.

However the excursion is very pricey. If you have limited time on your vacation it would be a good way to see some of NZ's best scenery if you can fit the cost into your budget.
