How do we get from the port in Sydney to Louisbourg? There are seven of us. Thanks!

Having seven people, we cannot take the usual taxi, unless we take two. Is there another way to get to Lousibourg?

I don't really want to rent a van since we are only going there and back. Does anyone know if there is something similar to Uber? Or taxi service? We can split into 3 and 4, if needed. Also, how expensive would that be from the cruise port to Louisbourg?

Using TaxiFareFinder and assuming it is working properly, the taxi fare would be about $78 plus tip one way. Travel time would be about 45 minutes.

To give you something to compare, a mid size car will run you around $30 (at least that's the rate we're paying in October), so about $60 for two cars.

Renting a van would be the easiest and cheapest way to go. The rental company (we used Budget) will meet you at the ship and take you to their facility to pick up your van. The drive to the Fortress is not confusing at all.

There is a hiking trail on the opposite side of the bay called the Louisbourg lighthouse trail. A fantastic hike. The site of the first lighthouse in Canada. There is a lighthouse still there next to the ruins of the original.

We're in Sydney on a Saturday. Are there any options for tours from the dock. Not comfortable with doing rental car after hours drop-off.

There are not enough activities or much things to do near the port where the cruise ship docked.

They recommend people to either rent a car on their own to explore outside Sydney or to take a shore excursion from the cruise ship.
