I pad mini

I know this is a silly question. , but has anyone used a apple ipad mini 4 to take pictures while on the cruise ?? If so how did it turn out ?

There are lots of silly questions on CC. If you can hold the iPad still, they should be fine.

I vary from phone to pad to SLR. Each has benefits and downsides. A lot depends on what you want to do with the photos and how much control you want over your shooting options.

My family likes it.

It takes pretty decent pictures actually! Only struggle is holding up the thing. Haha.

Only bummer is using it at shows or in large groups of people. The glowing screen can be really irritating to those around you when you're in a darker situation, and in groups of people, they tend to get held up to shoot over other people's head, thus blocking the view of others behind you.

I mostly used my canon camera on sports mode and my iPhone. The phone did panoramas of Glaciers and mountains. Whatever you use, have it at the ready, not where you have to dig for it.

I saw someone using one, and it seemed rather awkward. It had a cover like a book, so the flap was just dangling there on the side.

Just remember to show consideration to your fellow photographers if you are close together. It can sometimes be annoying with a large iPad with a cover that hangs down and therefore 'fills a lot' - even an iPad mini.
