Concerned about Voyager Boarding Time

Hopefully I am wrong -- but from what I have been reading -it appears that the boarding time for the Voyager out of NJ seems to be rather late --- I do not feel that this is correct --- inasmuch as I believe that the first day --is counted as part of the cruise -- if we are not goint to be boarding until 6PM that would mean that there will be not lunch served--- and those that have the first seating will not be served --- what is most annoying to me --- is not the fact that the meals will be interupted --- but -- I enjoy just getting on the ship early -- relaxing and becoming familiar with the ships layout --- especially a ship of this size --- we will be on the Sept 5th sailing --- and are looking forward to it - it anyone has any further information to offer on this subject I would appreciate hearing your comments --- thank you

I'm assuming this is for the 5-day to Canada. The boarding time is late because the 9-day Caribbean does not get back into port until noon. By the time they clear customs, get everyone off, and get ready to board, it might be a little before 6, but probably not by more than an hour or two.

With regard to meals, you're right, you won't get lunch. I expect dinner will be open seating the first night.

One of the things I was told by RCI recently is they specifically say how many NIGHTS the cruise is...not days. I'm sure that way as long as you're on that night, you don't really have a 'right' to complain if you miss lunch.

Does the 9 night Caribbean also board at 6pm?

Our 5 day Cananda on 6/13 says embarkation is at 10 pm. I thought that was really late. Why not bring the previous cruise in a little earlier so that we can get started a little earlier?

I see on their website Voyager departs @ 5pm so when would boarding begin?

I wouldn't think so since Canada and Caribbean cruises alternate and the late boarding is a result of when the Caribbean cruises return at noon. The Canada cruises return at 8 am.

Sept 5th is a 5 night Canadian so your boarding time would be later because the 9 night Caribbean before you is not scheduled to arrive until noon.
