from my experience.

always hit the slots in the begining of the cruise.
as the week goes on it seems tighter and tighter.

always sit at the slot machine closest to a main entrance.

our first cruise momma won 2500.00 within the first 5 minutes of the casino opening

we been playing that machine every cruise never won that big but always came home with extra

the odds on these machines are set on the chip that is soldiered on to the board of the machine. Its not like there is a 'tightness' gauge in the cage that the staff is adjusting as the cruise goes on. I agree with the post that mentioned when the casino is crowded on the first day there are more winners because there are more players.

Its like the drink of the day, sell a bunch of them on day one as people embark, as they understand the cost and people settle in, they're more selective and not trying to take part in everything...so the casino empties out more and more as the week goes on...

Stick to felt over machines. Blackjack and Craps over Roulette, C stud, and any of the carnival games like let it ride, face up, fun 21 and all that. Blackjack isn't as 'streaky' as Craps, but its not as fun either :-)

I realize, of course, that ALL slot machines are stacked in the house's favor. That's how it is in land based casinos, too, or they'd all be out of business. I can only pass along MY experiences on Carnival ships.

In six cruises, I've hit two slot jackpots that were each over $1,000. (That's way better than I've done on land playing the same games and betting the same amounts per spin.) Both of those hits came on the last sea day. On another cruise, my friend also hit a jackpot for over $1,000 on the last sea day.

Does that mean the machines are "looser" then? Not really. Maybe they're just loaded up from people gambling all week.

Just go and have fun. Take what you can afford to lose, consider it entertainment, and enjoy anything you DO win!

The best bet in the casino is taking odds on the craps table. Taking odds pays even money. Find yourself a partner who likes to play craps but never takes odds, you take them for him.

I think you mean "pays true odds" (no house advantage). Odds on pass/come pay 6:5 for 6/8, 3:2 for 5/9, and 2:1 for 4/10.

Like many others posted, treat the casino as entertainment. Have fun whatever game you play, be it cards, dice, or slots. Consider how much you are willing to pay (lose) for the entertainment you participate in.

The best way to double your money in any casino is to put it in your wallet and fold it in half!

I have heard that the odds for 3 card poker are slightly better than BJ. Problem is I only know how to play BJ. I really should learn craps, it seems like fun.

On the Glory, in 2005, I actually had my biggest win. I quite often disembark with a W2-G in my hands...but it's usually in the $1500-$2500 range. The big win in 2005, on the Glory, was $8700...and it was on a $1 Wheel of Fortune machine.

Good luck to you! !

My wife and I like that game where you put a quarter in the top, and you see if the little pusher thing scoots coins off the edge and into the payout area. It is most assuredly awful as far as odds, but it is great fun. The glory has several of these machines. Every time we walk through the casino, we check to see if the machine has a bunch of coins hanging over the edge, or if there are premium prizes (Chips, rolls of bills, etc.) ready to drop. $10 of quarters lasts a good half hour. Some of the best entertainment is right there.

My biggest win was also on the Glory. Royal Flush on the poker machine. Me and the woman in front of me hit the exact same royal flush at the exact same time. And I believe a few months before we were on the Glory someone did win the BMW.
