Pride 15 day baltic 7/27 sold out?

HI,

I'm already booked on the Pride 15 day 7/27 cruise but have been going to the Seabourn site to check out availability of cabins since we have an outside guarantee so don't have a cabin assignment yet. When I went out last night I got a message that my selected cruise had no availability but yet Seabourn sent me an email ad this morning listing that cruise as one of the ones that is on sale for this week only. The T/A I bought the cruise from is also showing that they still are selling cabins for this cruise.

I'm interested if anyone else who is booked a guaranteed cabin for this cruise has gotten their cabin assignment.

By the way if you have never done it, you can go out and go through the steps as if you are booking a cruise to check the availability of cabins. It is useful especially if you book guaranteed cabins.

The other strange thing was just 3 or 4 days ago I checked for cabin availability and over 1/2 of the cabins for this cruise were showing as available. I was worried we were going to be almost alone on this cruise.

Anyway if anyone has any info or just wants to let me know they are also on this cruise please post.

Thanks and have a great next cruise.

I booked a specific cabin and have that assigned. However last week I was given the opportunity to upgrade (at my expense) to either a cabin with the Juliet balcony or the owners suite. I'm guessing they are still shuffling things around because of the upgrade offers.

When I want to check cabin availability, I go to whatever cruise line site I will be sailing on and act like I am going to be booking a cabin. On the Seabourn site, then go thru the steps until it asks you to pick a cabin and pick something other than a guarantee. That will bring you up a list of available cabins. If you then go down and enter another cabin number that isn't on the list it will either tell you that cabin is available or not. I use another cruise site so I have the deck plans of the ship open in a separate window so I know all the cabin numbers for a particular class. Then you just keep going back and forth between the different classes and you can make a list of all the available cabins on the ship.

Talk at you later.

The problem with doing what you are doing is that it does NOT account for the number of Guarantee GTY bookings have been sold, therefore you don't know with surety how many cabins are left. All you erally know is that those cabin numbers that you see on travel sites are as of then "unassigned".;)

Sorry you can't do that in the UK.

I will agree all it really is doing is finding out what cabins are unassigned but if a really significant number of cabins are unassigned then generally that would lead to the assumption that there are cabins available on the cruise and if you do it enough, which you can on a small ship like the Pride, you can make some decisions on whether the cruise price is going to come down. That is what we did with this cruise and we saw a significant reduction in price about 4 or 5 weeks ago.

No it is not perfect and it is almost impossible on some of the larger ships as it would take days to accomplish. But on the smaller ships I believe it is a way to find potential bargains if you have certain cruises you are interested in.

Have a great next cruise.

By the way we have still not been assigned a cabin nor have we been offered a paid upgrade. Given the balconies on this ship are the "Romeo and Juliet" type I don't think I would be willing to give them additional money for that potential upgrade.

Has anyone with a guaranteed cabin for this cruise been assigned a cabin recently. The cruise is being shown as sold out on my TA's site and by Seabourn but we are still waiting for a cabin assignment.

It would seem like if a cruise is sold out they would be able to assign cabins?

Thanks for any info and have a great next cruise.

They don't normally do cabin assignments before 7 to 10 days prior to sailing....hang in there!:eek:

You are right about all the towers. My house is below the bluff that they sit on and my wife has often said when we are coming home it looks like a scene from a science fiction movie.

As far as who Joe Pool was I assume he was influential so being in congress would make sense.

  • 2 weeks later...

We got our cabin assignment this morning. We will be in suite 115 on deck 4 for our 16 days in the Baltic. It is an A1 versus the A class of cabins so it is a small upgrade. We are happy with it and are looking forward to the cruise.

Glad to hear they didn't discount it again.

Have a great next cruise.

My dear friend, Miss A.'s (Baltimore) Suite was always #114 on the Pride ~~yep, 10 months out of every year ~10 years in the same suite!:p She left most of her luggage aboard ~Ex. Housekeeper kept it for her......she only flew with her handbag and jewels! I use to pick her up at the Ft Lauderdale airport and was always amazed at her large "jewel case!" A carry on! But, she always strolled into the Constellation Lounge at exactly 7:15, escorted by an Officer, Dr., Nurse, Purser, looking so chic, & elegant ~certainly does not look her age, either! Wish I had her beautiful skin! ~she's a Kentucky Belle ~guess thats it! A sweet, caring wonderful, FUN Sailor Woman.

Pleeeze tell her I'm on my way to recovery ~~NO surgery, but will take a few more months. She calls from time to time ~hope she's healthy, happy and having a good time.

And you, ST ~~do have a grrreat voyage ~surely wish I could be with all of you! I miss Seabourn so much! But I'll be there in Nov. ~~hopefully NOT as a "crippled up 'ole West Texan lady..."just not my style! (certainly could be worse....I'm very, very thankful, and blessed everyday)

We have not gotten any of those emails. I just kept checking and then there was a cabin assignment.

Were the offers good ones or not?

They were from Seabourn > My TA > Me. They were OK at best I guess. I didn't pay too much attention as there wasn't a smoking hot deal on the Owners Suite;). It seems they really want to fill the balconies.

At least on the 3 small sisters having a regular balcony cabin just means you can get a little fresh air without having to walk somewhere. The "romeo & Juliet" type balconies never made any sense to me. HAL tried them on a couple of ships and had lots of trouble filling them at the price they were asking.

Have a great next cruise.
