Best cruise line for New England/Canada

I really need some feedback on the best cruise line for New England/Canada. We've been on HAL and loved it. We're not into large party boats, more enjoy smaller ships that are quieter. Any suggestions?

There is no BEST just lines that suit your needs/want & budget more than the others

Look at what ships do the route you want then narrow it down by what is important to you

Oceania have smaller ships <700 pax

We too have done HAL a couple times on the Eurodam in that area and really enjoyed it. I imagine other lines do a good job also. As mentioned base it on the itinerary, if it stops where you want to go and the ship fits then book it. Have you done HAL Canada/NE or just HAL elsewhere? They offer a few different itineraries and different cruise lengths (7,10,14 nights) that might fit what you are looking for. If you have done HAL and loved it, why change?

Very small ships, take a look at Blount or other American Cruise small ship lines.

Older crowd, more elegant - Princess. Family oriented Royal. NCL is also another nice family. HAL, nice but pricy.

compare the ships, destinations, and price points. What are you looking for in terms of "best"? Quantum is coming in a year, as is the Royal Princess - both will sail New England in the years to come.

picked Oceania.Going to ports I want to see and good dates for me.Having tried the LARGE cruiselines,find I prefer ones 700 passengers or less and not be "nickel and dimed" for every little thing. You truly get what you pay for,so your budget is a KEY factor.;)

Maasdam's seven day Boston to Montreal and Montreal to Boston are about HAL's best short cruises IMO

We do that cruise almost every summer b-to-b and never tire of it.

We board in Boston and stay for the round trip.
