Copenhagen 72 hour City Pass

Does your 72 hours begin when you buy the city pass or is it time stamped on your first use?

When you buy it but you can buy it on your phone when you need it.

Thanks for responding. I know I can buy it on a phone but I am not a smart phone user. I am asking about buying a paper pass and using it after the cruise.

That is not possible as the the ticket I valid from the time of purchase.

We were told that the card was valid from first entry or train,bus use. You have to enter the time on the card. We asked numerous times and were told the same thing.

I hope it doesn't activate upon purchase. I bought online and had them mailed to my home!!:(:(:(

If what you bought is the Copenhagen pass, you are ok. I was asking about the city transportation pass as they are different.

Thank you very much for your response Danish Viking. Sounds like we buy a bus ticket and then get the 72 hour pass at the train station unless they are sold at the shop in the port.

The transport authority (Movia) stopped selling all Klippekort (including the city pass) in february.

When its 1st of July all the machines will be taken down and then its paper ticket, Rejsekort (like Londons Oystercard) and mobile app/text message tickets.

FYI - We found very little use for our 3-day pass a couple of weeks ago. We used it to get from the airport to our Airbnb and back from Copenhagen Street Food. It was a big waste of money for us - we walked everywhere else for three and a half days!

Now we are in Stockholm and we use our transit passes a few times a day. We are not amazing walkers - Copenhagen is either small or the sites are all just really close together.

The only reason we were interested in buying the 72 hour pass is that we are staying out by the airport so need to travel back and forth from there each day.
