First trip on the Island
Can't believe this day has finally arrived! Leave in a few hours for our 10 day Panama trip on the Island. Flew in yesterday and a quick $12 taxi ride from the airport got us to the Embassy Suites on 17th Street. A pleasant stroll to Total Wine to pick up a few bottles to carry on(we'll see how that goes with the new luggage tag language recently discussed here on CC) then on to Publix for the last minute "forgot to brings" and snacks. A new addition to the 17th street "walk to" restaurants since we were here last year is Carrabba's which is a block from the hotel. Had a very nice dinner there last night so another place to consider when you're here. We'll grab the hotel shuttle in a few hours and be on our way.
Thanks to all of you wonderful CC members for sharing your tips and suggestions through the year. They've made planning this cruise alot of fun and I'm sure we'll be die hard Island fans very shortly.

Our first cruise was a 10 day Panama Canal (full transit) on Island. We had great food and service. The crew always went out of their way for the passengers. The ship itself was very attractive and well laid out. You will love this cruise.

You'll love the Island--we took her to Alaska last year. She's a great ship with a wonderful crew. The Canal cruise is definitely on our bucket list, so will be interested to read your review when you return.

Coral's Twin
We did the full transit on the Coral last year , loved everything about the cruise and the ship. We hadn't cruised on a smaller ship in quite some time but had not problem. The Coral is not our favorite
Have a great cruise!! I have the Fort Lauderdale webcam on and will be watching you sail away tonight.
