My hubby and I will be cruising on the Adriatic dream cruise via Holland America. It begins in Rome and ends in Venice.Could someone please help me in finding the best deal in getting from the Venice port and back to the Rome airport?

Thanks a lot.

Suite Traveler has laid out some good options, but maybe a few more considerations are in order. From the place HAL docks, the train station is very close, walking distance if you don't have any mobility issues and don't mind lugging your bags. The airport is further away, requires the travel time, checkin time, etc.

The high speed train is 3:30 to Rome, then connecting, and about 30 minutes to the airport.

There is a lot of info on the Italy board, here:

that could be helpful. Personally, I would take the train.

Why not do a multi-city round trip air inbound to Rome and outbound from Venice routed back through Rome (if you can delay that return leg from Rome for the day(s) you want to spend there after disembarking Venice)?

Would you know how I would get from the train station to the airport?

As suggested, look over on the Italy board. You can almost see the train station from the cruise terminal, although it is not a direct route. But it is easier to get to the train terminal than it is to the airport, again, if you don't have mobility issues.
